As a soon to complete (presuming that the Habitation lic. appears) purchaser...just starting to think about insurance.  Has anyone found out the details of what (if anything) is covered in any community charge? Any advice re.  use local/UK insurer, bits to look out for in the policy, coverage of a stad policy etc?

Hi

Don't know if anything is covered by the Community Charge.  We went with Hiscox in the UK because they have policies specifically dedicated to holiday homes.  We found them extremely reasonable.

The properties are covered in the overall communidad policy and you can get details for your mortgage lender or yourself from the administrators of your phase. They will need your property reference etc . You only have to cover the contents as everything else regarding the property is covered by the community policy as far as I know.
