Dear All,

Has anyone else experienced being left in their apartment with no electricity ?

We arrived at "Jardines "on the Saturday pm and immediately reported the electricity not working. Despite our cry for help nothing was done and we were  left with no lighting,no heating,no fridge and no cooking facilities until last thing on Monday evening ! we only finally got things done after writing a pretty strong letter to Ballester head office! We were offered no help at all not even a free dinner at the Melia Hills Hotel.

Also getting the workmen back to complete the snagging was time consuming and frustrating to say the least.

What have others experienced ?

Hi Gilly and John

We have stayed in our apartment 3 times over the past few months, the longest period being 11 days in August. Fortunately we didn't suffer any power cuts during these periods although we did have a short period of a few hours when the water was turned off. For this reason we now keep a supply of water in a container for emergencies.

As regards the electricity problem, we wonder what would happen if the power cut occured whilst using the lift. With so few people in residence you could be stuck in their for days. I guess it pays to carry a mobile phone with an emergency telephone number should the worst happen.

regards

Nigel and Marian

Hi Nigel and Marion,

Just as a matter of interest was your lift actually in use because ours certainly wasnt. In fact after the storms the lift shaft was full of water - well not exactly full but there was quite a lot.We were told by the Ballester office that the lifts would not be in use until we had telephone lines too.Is that what you were told?Needless to say it made it pretty tough for our removal men who had to carry everything up to the 2nd floor.

Hi Gilly and John

Although we had no lift  for our visits in either August or September, when we went over towards the end of October for the week, our lift was operational. As we are on the top floor this was very welcome. Previously we had the same problem with furniture deliveries having to be carried up the stairs. Not only is this very hardwork for the delivery Company but increases the chances that something will get damaged.

best regards

Nigel and Marian
