Hi everybody,

just had a couple of days looking at property with Pure Property Group, great people, looked at a few apartments, but by far the best were the Mirador De La Vega. Blown away by the area, not commercialised at all, great views of the surrounding mountains, and the apartments look perfect, although building work still being undertaken. We've purchased number 36, top floor looking west to the new park being laid.

The town of Cox isnt' far away, maybe 10 minutes walk, but its a typical Spanish town with all the local shops and tapas bars that you want for a quiet and relaxing stay. I've got a few photo's  of the build that I will post on this site later tonight.

Going out again in early November to sort the furniture out, and meet up with my new friends at Pure to discuss some other bits and pieces. Building work is due for completion in December, my family cant wait to get the keys.

If you want to purchase one of these great apartments be quick, they're going fast

Ian

Hi all,
just posted photos on the site, had a few problems, received runtime error message so didn't think photos were being downloaded, but they were so there are a few duplicates. Must admit that there was not too many builders about due to the Spanish holidays in August, but that made it easier to walk around.

Quite a few photos of the development from the Calle Jaboneros side, we are no. 36, three down from the top overlooking the new communal park that is being developed. As you can see from the other photos the surrounding area really is nice, and the development sits nicely in the location.

We are having a few minor alterations made to the kitchen which the builder, Mahersol, are quite happy to accommodate as long as we pay ! So if you are thinking about slight alterations, talk to them or your agent now before its too late.

Our next trip will probably be in early November to see how its all going, and to look at furnishings, our friends at Pure Property are going to escort us to various shops, and no doubt we shall have a glass of wine or two with them, they have been a great help to us, and no they're not paying me to say it.

If anyone else has any comments join in the chat, and between now and getting the keys we can get to know eachother.

adios

Ian, Jill & the girls

Hi Ian, Great to hear from another new owner, we (Stuart, wife Linda and my sister Lynne) bought earlier this year (no. 30) and are looking forward to collecting keys in Dec/Jan all being well. Lynne is just back and has some photos to post as well. Absolutely spot on with your purchase - unspoilt area, beautiful views. We made some changes as well - shower + plumbing for W/machine on roof, additional fitted wardrobe and larger water tank. Seems to be quite a few scots gathering (we're from Penicuik, Midlothian), but then we recognise a good thing when we see it! Look forward to hearing from you and seeing any other pictures you might take in Nov. Best wishes Stuart.

Good to hear from you Stuart.
We had also been thinking about asking to increase the size of the water tank.  Would you mind letting us know what size are you going for and have you relocated it from the kitchen wall?
Regards
Ian

Hi Ian,

After speaking to some of my sisters friends who have a place in Spain we were advised that to comfortably accomodate 4 people showering etc that the 75ltr tank (additional €90) was a good balance between an adaquet supply of hot water and energy consumption. We have left it in the kitchen.

I should really look to see if people have left biographies before posting replies that could be even slightly offensive. Sorry, I have no axe to grind with our neighbours south of the border. Well other than the same ones as every other paranoid scot. Hope to post Lynnes pictures next week, she lives just outside Edinburgh.

Look forward to exchanging more chat and information re site development and perhaps a drink next summer?

Best wishes, Stuart.

Hi Stuart,

thanks for the info regarding the water tank, been in touch with Mahersol and have arranged for the hot water cylinder to be upgraded to the 75 litre version, best to get these little jobs done now.

Looking forward to seeing the next set of photos your sister intends to download, the building work should be in full flow after the Spanish holidays.

Drink next summer ? Before that I hope.

cheers, Ian

hi all

just back from spain,posted photos.

development is cracking on at great pace, all new roads are laid as we left, all tiling inside some houses are completed, looking very nice.they are now rendering outside walls etc with the white and yellow cotergen, looks great. spent three days furniture shopping and loads of money(what are wives for)got our place all furnished though(phew)i did not think much off the furniture packs, we bought our goods to suit ourselves.not possible to go out on completion and try to furnish a house with all pressures on you in my opinion, while trying to move in and organise everything suppose thats why they try to flog you a package, the park across the way will be a few years to complete according to what i was told at site(spain for you)had a tapas in cox ,interesting comunications went on trying to order the grub, but hey thats why we bought in cox(all spanish).

looking forward to meeting everyone soon.

cheers

billy

Photographs look fantastic! Interested to hear where you went to buy your furniture and lighting if not in packs. We didn't fancy the idea of packs either but hadn't got as far as looking seriously at different shops or seperates from big suppliers like the ones in Almoradi. Imagine you might not get as good value for your money buying seperates but then you get to make your own choices about design and more importantly quality. Stuart.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has visited the site recently and taken any pictures to download, seems a while since there has been any notices posted.

We are going out on November 30th for 5 days, school mid term break in Angus, to see how the build is going, take a few pictures and room mearsurements then take a look at some furniture and lighting stores, plus this will be the first time my family have seen the area and development for themselves.

Ian & Jill

Hi ian, not been out since late june but Have a friend who's out in the area at present who I'm hoping will find the time to look in and check out the progress. Think next visit for us might be dec or even early January when we hope to visit a completed apartment and start looking at furnishings. Stuart.

Just posted a general 'first' message, but since sending that, I've read this thread and started panicking!   I've not been advised about making any changes to water tanks or boilers or anyting like that.  Advice please.   The only thing I was able to negotiate was the colour of the tiles in one of the bathrooms (couldn't live with the brown ones in showhouse).  This water tank that's being talked of - what and where?!!

Any advice gratefully received.

Dil & Alan your new Welsh/Brits.

the hot water tank is the white cylinder in the kitchen above the sink, it heats the water by means of electricity. The original size is 50 litres but some, including ourselves have increased it in size to 75 litre storage because at most times there will be four of us in the apartment. The extra cost was 90 euros, might be a worthwhile investment just to know you have plenty of hot water in store.

Ian

Hi Everyone,

Just found this thread. My husband Danny and I are hoping to be over next weekend to view  Mirador... Looking to buy through MASA. We had spent a month independently house hunting all the costa blanca in August...and thought we had found a place pereviously shown us by MASA...in Almoradi.  But returning in sept...we decided it was an apt in a huge building. Mainly used as holiday lets. and not what we want to call home.  Masa this week informed us of these properties.. We know cox a little..and think it is lovely. We are  coming to view  top floor apts..44,46 and 48...which we are told are still available. Can anyone give me any insight into what these are like regarding view and locationwise? and which might be a better choice. I am really excited.. Especially to hear how all of you are so pleased with how things are going.. This has really reassured me...as like many others..We are selling up our home in the UK..to retire and live permanently.   Ages 63..and 58... Leaving what is familiar..and especially family..   is really frightening.  you keep worrying if you have made the right choice in property. Reading these threads has been a tremendous help. also given us some good tips..I did notice somewhere in the description.. that the water tank was only 5o litres...and thought that seemed small. Also the stairs in the kitchen.. Would it be to late at this point to remove the wall ? Any information and advice would be most welcome. Regards, Carol

The apartments you are going to view are directly above and at right angles to the communal pool with 48 being closest and numbers 50 & 52 being between you and the pool, they are 1 row back from Calle Jaboneros which may obstruct your views a little. To be honest I can't recall if they are slightly more elevated so that your view is unobstructed. The water tank can be upgraded to 75ltr for about €90 can't speak for the stairs. Good luck, it's a beautiful development and at my last advice just over 50% sold. Stuart.

Hi Stuart.....thanks for that information. We were originally  to see 3 choices...apts. 44,46 & 48..   However, we have since been informed that it is only no. 50 available. It had been reserved... but is now released  again for sale..  MASA are now holding it for us until the 23rd when we come over. It seems it might be a bit blocked in... I  truly  hope it has some view of the mountains. It is just want we wanted....and  ironically we never saw these properties in  August when we were in Spain for a month  house hunting. And MASa actually showed us around as well...but never included them.  We even passed through Cox.  We Jusrt hope it all goes well this time.  It looks a lovely development....with lots of friendly people.  Can't wait to see for myself. Cheers, Carol

Hi Carol/Danny when I say behind Calle Jaboneros they are not towering apartments and I think, from memory, that the view is not so hindered that you cannot appreciate it. I wish you both the best of luck and hope that you like what you see. Like you we think that the people who are buying here sound very friendly and we are looking fprward to meeting you all. Any body fluent in Spanish? Stuart.

HI Stuart,

Thanks so much for all the support. I am sure this apt will be wonderful. With the low prices ...and all that they offer... It would take an awful lot to dissuade us. There is bound to be some view from the solarium.. The community certainly looks lovely and the neighbours all sound great..so that is an enormous Plus. We can't wait to get there and see for ourselves. It was just so exciting to see so many of the photos with such stunning mountain views from the solariums. Exactly what I'd dreamed of for my home in spain.  We'd looked high and low for just such a view. But I know I won't be disapopointed.

On the spanish front..I speak only a few words and phrases..but I am eager to learn. I have been told that most town halls offer Spanish classes free of charge. I hope that's true.  Perhaps we could all learn together.  It could be a lot of fun!  Cheers for now, Carol
