Golf society

Does Terrazas have a golf society?

Hi,

Terrazas at the moment do not have a golf society, hopefully with IRM taken over the club house some form of a society can be formed in the future.

It would be nice to have one. I would suggest that if one is started, it should run on Thursdays so it doesn't clash with the other resorts. That way, we may attract people from other resorts too. I know at Riquelme, the society is run by the community president, who doesn't even play golf!

Hi - there are a couple of societies in the area.  

Club 25 play Wednesday and Sunday mainly on the six Polaris courses.  Wednesday is normally a fun team event and Sunday an individual stableford event.  They normally go for a drink after in Roldan (Roual Bite). Guests are welcome but you have to get a Spannish handicap to become a full member.

Golden Bear is another society that plays once a month followed by a meal in the evening for players and (non-playing) partners.  A lot of members are based at Hacienda and they normally play Polaris courses.

Both societies are great and make you feel very welcome - both are mainly but not exclusively British with a combination of ex-pats and holiday owners.  Details are on the web but let me know if you can't tack them down.

You've missed a few out there:

El Valle GS meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Riquelme GS meet on Mondays.

Alhama GS meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Hence my suggestion of Thursday!

Thanks Adrain - great stuff.  Have you joined/played with any of them?

Yep. My favourite is the El Valle lot. Tee off about 12:30 for maximum warmth this time of year. Always stableford - either singles or some team game. Normally 12-20 people. Riquelme are early starters - got to be there for about 8:30am, once again usually stableford, about 8-15 people. Alhama is much bigger - frequently get 50 people or so. Trouble with them is they meet up for prizegiving at about 6pm in the pub, which is no use if you don't live there.

Club25 I find frustrating because they keep doing modified Texas scrambles with very mismatched teams. Last time I had to sacrifice a lot of good drives so that my other team members could make up their requisite quota.

Might see you there! I tend to fly in on a Sunday, back on a Saturday, and play golf every day, so I do Riquelme on the Monday, El Valle on the Tuesday, Club25 on Wednesday and Alhama on Friday.

I'll be here next week, then the same week in March, then 12th April for 4 days.

Apologies for using your site. I help run the society at Condado and have had a discussion with organiser at El Valle society. We are trying to gauge interest in an inter resort golf day but need contact at Saurines to see if enough interest. Can anyone help?
