If you bought there recently then you should be fully aware of the problems associated with this develpment. If I were you I would expect nothing because that is what you are very likely to get.

The place looks abandoned.

Mickey Finn- You are talking absolute rubbish - I would use a stronger word but I would be banned from the forum.  Would you care to elucidate on the "problems" you have mentioned - you seem to be very knowledgeable - are you an owner?  .

The place does not look abandoned - I think you may have got it mixed up with the other resort La Tercia Real which is abandoned - La Tercia Golf Resort is certainly not .  Get your facts straight before spouting off. - having just come back from a great break there I have to say the gardens and pools are just fantastic, the air wonderful and it is a pity that the resort is not completed - but abandoned - no - you are so so wrong.

I see you have vested commercial interests in the area.

What has happened to the golf course? It's a dust bowl and abandoned. The club house and bar is closed. The perimeter fences along the main road have collapsed and not been repaired. Several blocks of apartments are slowly falling down and await demolition. The commercial premises on the resort are all shut down. Many villas have not been completed. The developer is bankrupt. Crime has been reported there on a regular basis.

I accept some residents still live there and make the best of it but please don't say the place does not have serious problems.

I am not going to get in a dialogue with you.

No I do not have 'commercial interests' - is it a way of life for you to make up stuff as you go along?

It is true the golf course and club house is closed but the resort is well maintained except for one block of apartments which are not for sale and owned  by the developer.  The commercial premises were incapable of being shut down as they were never opened.  There are 5 golf courses within a 10-20 minute drive from la Tercia - sad we don't have our own - at the moment but if you need golf - then it's not far away.  Shops and restaurants are all within a very easy drive including 2 great bars in the village,

There is a very thriving community, with loads of social activities, fantastic garden and pools, great apartments and villas (admittedly sad to see the unbuilt plots) .  We do have security and many resorts such as Corvera and El Valle and La Torre have been rife with breakins as well in the past so we are no different.  Indeed the Murcia police have now developed a neighbourhood watch scheme which all the resorts are involved in.    I should know, I am, I will admit one of the sub-community Presidents on site and a property owners so I suppose that can be construed as "commercial Interest" - what are you  - an agent trying to flog other property?  Someone who has had the air let out of his tyres?  Someone with a real chip on your shoulder?    Why are you so keen to look at the negatives and not the positives? .  Other people (owners and potential buyers) have eyes and brains and all the bank owned property has nearly been sold - so someone thinks the place has some potential - as do many of us owners.  Of course we are bitterly disappointed that the resort is not complete - who wouldn't be - but we are really trying to make the best of what we have got.

There are lots of people on La Tercia who are very well aware of everything and who work very hard to ensure a great quality of life on the resort and to keep the bits we own to a very high standard.  What we don't need are anonymous know it all nosey parkers who do drive by's  trying to make the situation worse.

I'm very happy you are optimistic for the future. Your resort has many hurdles to climb and not to admit the problems publically orlessen their impact on residents in my view is unfair at best.

So much selling of a dream goes on in Spain there needs to be a realistic counter balance. So many people have lost their life savings and ended in debt because of unrealistic selling practices by a large section of so called property agents. British people are vulnerable to that.

I take a more realistic view and see difficulties before advantage. Good luck with turning UGR around.

You really do enjoy being a bottle half empty type. I totally agree many of us were 'sold a dream' which has diminished Am I wrong in trying to be positive?  If so I might as well take the pill now and finish it all. Frankly people like you who assume the rest of us have half a brain I can do without

Anyone  who buys on resort can see what they are buying now.

I am now going to disengage myself from this thread.

Apologies to you New World - but it's amazing how rumours do get put around though about crime in the area.  As I said we are now part of a neighbourhood watch scheme instigated by the Murcia Police in order to mitigate crime on the resorts which were targeted and now the situation is hugely improved.

No Problem, a bit went on when the site first opened  I like the apts on La Tercia they are a much better spec than many of the Polaris resorts, and with prices at what they are now i think they are well worth the money,  and if i buy again in Spain it would be on that resort. I wont be sinking £££s into Spanish property again, but 30/40k no proplem. The best thing any resort can have is a good strong community to get things done,. As with most of these resorts people got lots of false promises, from your geting a hotel to your getting a town centre full of shops & bars, its now upto the owners to take the resorts forward.

Hi - thanks for that and I agree with you.

We do have a strong community and a strong management team and the plan is to take the resort forward.  For example our new gardening company is in the process of making La Tercia a showcase and already there have been great results from their efforts.  I totally agree about the spec - we have a 3 bed penthouse with a 90 sqm solarium and in my very humble opinion it is fantastic.  The villas and the size of their plots are just beautiful - but it was sad that the bank pulled the plug and would not fund any more villa building unless the villa was sold.  Hence a small part of the resort came to standstill - but what is there is very very good.
