Car Hire & Drinky Poos in September

Hi,

Can someone recommend a decent car hire company, there are some brilliant deals at the moment but you hear so many stories about being ripped off after on fuel, scratches etc, it`s a bit of a mine field and we`ve not hired in Spain before so any info would be gratefully received.

Also Stella and I are out with a few friends 24th, Sept so if anyone else is out and fancies a few beers one of the nights give us a shout...

We have used Gold Car Rentals based near the Don Juan hotel in Aguilas and they proved to be the cheapest and most efficient. If you log onto their website and book from there, it is cheaper than going into their office or going through an agent/holiday accommodation company.

We agree Goldcar are no doubt the best company with regards to condition of vehicle etc.

However having hired a car ever time we come out and have done this for c5 years we have found shopping around you can often save a considerable amount and if you are luck you get Goldcar appear on your voucher, without going direct but with a big discount.

We have experienced a few scratches and even signficant damage when hitting a fox on the E15 at high speed but never has the various companies requested damages!  We are safe drivers really!

Prices do very week to week and month to month we are out at the end of the month and by waiting a few weeks we have saved around £60 on a fortnights car hire.

Always ask for the basic economy model and often you are upgraded.

Finally, carhire3000 is a good one because you can cancel free of charge so if you find it cheaper later you can cancel and re book but still have reserved the initial car as a backstop.
