Is anyone aware of private boat hire (cruiser type) which can be arranged either in Aguilas or Villaricos?

Any information such as contact details and previous experience of price appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bev and Martin,

All we've seen so far are the little dinghies in the new marina in Aguilas.  Jim's very keen to find a larger sailboat for hire but so far nothing and we haven't seen any mobos in our travels.  There might be something in Almerimar but it's a good hour's drive away. Maybe if we keep asking, the Aguilas sailing club will see a demand for boathire.

Cruisers my god you must be loaded the two of you, we bought a blow up dingey at Eroski & went to the beach to try it out last time we were there only to realise that it did not come with oars  . What I am trying to say you could have hired it but we still have not bought the oars yet sorry.

But yes it might be a good idea if someone when on hol goes to the the Aguilas sailing club and enquires about hire. Plus next time Pam & I are out oars are a must. I am myself trying to find out about fishing off the beach as I have been told you require like everything else in Spain a license to do so.

If you find out or anyone else can find any info on boat hire or fishing please post on here.

Hi Guys

We have found someone via John at the Beachcomer in Mojacar - once we have tried and tested we will post a review.

Hi, I looked thru past threads and found this reply from our friend J&N (Jacqui). The original post was started by Arsenal -

This is the ony company I have found that advertises boat trips - http://www.aguilasserviciosvip.com/ I got the details from a leaflet, I don't know anyone who has used them so I cannot comment on their service.

There is no boat hire from Terreros, your best bet would be Aguilas

Jacqui

Hope this helps,

Ray

Hi, we used aguilasservIciosvip last year and had a brilliant afternoon out. It was 240 euro for a four hour trip, there were eight of us so it worked out quite cheap. They supplied the pilot, beers and soft drink and snacks. We decided to do the same this year but were quoted €325 for boat hire, €60 for the pilot and then whatever the fuel would cost. Needless to say, we didn't bother, hate being ripped off! We were in Villarico the other day and there was a glass bottomed boat in the marina but we couldn't see anyone to ask. If anyone finds any trips, keep us informed. Lynn

Hi

Whilst out in the last fortnight we did our boat trip and survived!

On a serious note the trip started at 10.45 and we returned about 3.30 - the boat was a sunbeam 37 ft tomahawk, skipped by the owner a great guy called Steve who has the boat in Aguilas by the marina.

We arrived to complementary Cava and Orange and provided our own food and drink for the rest of the trip.  he basically took us where we wanted - we first went up to San Juan to see the coast line by sea (having seen it by road for 5 years it was a refreshing change).  We then went down passed Aguilas and spend a hour or so swimming in a lovely cove.

Steve is a lovely guy who has brought his boat over from Swansea and provides a great day out for a very reasonable price - pm me for further details - he takes up to 6 guests and operates these types of trips out of pleasure than commercially.

This along with our break in Granada over 3 days, definately made this trip one to remember - weather was great for the fortnight too - except 1 day of rain!  PM if you would like a recommendation for tour of Alambra and hotel in Granada.
