I thought it might be a good idea to collect together all those of us who are purchasing on Phase 2, in one thread so to speak - could be very useful eventually. For now we could share info on what our agents have told us about progress etc. Speaking of which, what do you generally expect from your agent? Ours was fine for the initial trip but has gone very quiet since, maybe because we didn't want to spend a couple of thousand on their 'care package'. I think that the lack of communication and information from them and Atlantia is not at the professional level I would expect considering the very large sums of money involved (50% of purchase in our case already invested). If you are reading and not Phase 2, please do not feel excluded - any helpful commiserations welcome!

I do not think that you are being fair with your comments about Atlantia, yes the development is a tad late but it is progressing  well in terms of quality of finish (just look at the dry stone walling for example) and has a lot of geographical character.

What are you expecting from Atlantia  that you should not be getting from your agent ?

I have always found Atlantia most helpful, they have w good progress website,  completion options e.g furniture and air con

What do others think ??

Hi

Nice to hear some positive comments, although we may perhaps disagree on the definition of a 'tad'. We put our money down in June 04, building was due to start in Sept apparently, and then finish "18 months after the start" (contract says!).  Sooooooo, being generous, our apartment should have been finished in plenty of time for summer 2006. It is definitely not going to be ready for summer 2007, (so two potential rental seasons lost and much frustration in not being able to plan to any believable date), and quite frankly, given the last missive from Atlantia I doubt that it will be ready much before the end of this year. Does this make my frustration a little easier to understand? £56,000 sitting in a Spanish builder's bank account with very little info coming our way (we always seem to have to ask for it, is this not your experience?) does get to you after a while! Just trying to get a response from our agent is a debilitating experience - last time we managed to get one photo, with no comment. I e-mailed back some polite, reasonable questions over a week ago, and no reply to date. When I have something more positive to say I will definitely share it, meanwhile..............I envy your peace of mind!

Hi Leigh,  I realise you are phase 2 but your frustration is shared, we are phase 1 and committed in Jan. 04 !  Still a lot of work to do in the area. Were holding off visiting but decided on a quick visit late March because who knows when completion will be. That said it does look like the quality and finish is worth the wait, however where did phase 5 appear from and the desalination plant looked much bigger than expected.

Mike

Hi Mike

Nice to hear from you. Your comments make me realise that the plans we have, which only really show Phases 1, 2 & 3 I think, are really out of date, but I am rather afraid to look at more recent ones for fear of what I will see! My reaction to the photos that I have seen lately is that the whole development looks rather more 'dense' than I was expecting. I think it's time I got my head out of the sand and had a look at some more recent plans, where did you see them - I haven't clue where the de-salination plant is going to be - probably right in front of my apartment I shouldn't wonder?! We are thinking of going over in April to see what things are really looking like, we haven't been since Nov 05 - our block was still scrub land at that time, so I guess we will see some progress, but I am rather afraid of what we are going to see actually! The very vague time scales make it so difficult to plan and book flights etc., it's hard figuring out when one needs to be out there. Look forward to hearing from you again.

Hi Leigh,

We are going out only for a couple of days 18/3 will post some pictures.

The desalination plant: Shouldn't interfere with phase 2. It is behind phase 1 in a dip. imagine standing with back to the sea looking up the mountain to the small clump of trees, (where small roundabout was) plant is to the left in a dip. Did look quite big though! perhaps it will be disguised!

Someone did mention possibly a four star hotel in the future on the other side of the development. Don't mean to cause concern but perhaps between us all we will get a full picture.

Hello again Mike - thanks for that info. It is certainly very helpful to be able to share information via this site. The people in Spain who should be keeping us abreast of developments are very quiet, so I think you are quite right, we'll just have to piece it together for ourselves! We will probably go out in May to see what's happened to our view and hopefully be able to see examples of the kitchen units etc. Have you been asked to choose anything like that yet? We were asked to choose floor and wall tiles by looking through some pics sent via e-mail, but I am not very confident that our preference will become reality! WE have purchased in Block 1 on Phase 2, which is the one on the front of the site on the right as you look down the hill from Phase 1. From the side of the terrace we look down what was a green ravine with a 'depositorio' in amongst the trees - we took a while figuring out what that housed (water), quite relieved it is not being expanded into the desalination plant!

Hi Leigh,

When were you given the choice of the floor tiles?  We have not been given the option yet.

Hi Sarah

Thought I'd reply on the board here in case it's of interest to anyone else too. We were e-mailed some pics of tiles back in the autumn of 2006, and had to respond pretty quickly I think, although I am not sure that our stated preferences will really affect the final outcome (sorry, don't know why I always sound so negative - perhaps this will change when some Phase 1 people have moved in and can reassure us!). Before that we were asked to state preferences re: electrical sockets, which was a bit of a joke as whatever is standard was not shown on our plan anyway - so, again, we'll just see what turns up. We have JUST been sent pics of kitchen worktop colours (2 to choose from) and kitchen cupboard finishes and asked to state a preference by April 4th. This is what annoys me, if we had any idea about these  deadlines beforehand we could have arranged a trip to see things for real, but the system seems to be months of silence and then a few short weeks of panic! I wonder if they are sending these things in the post to non-e-mailable clients.

I can e-mail you the choices we have been sent if you like.

Hello

I have uploaded two photos of a kitchen installation on Phase one 3 bed Apartment, you can see one combination option dated 1 Jan 2007

I am out next week and will take photo of another option if I can gain access.

I understand that a number on Phase one have selected the lighter colours of TEKA CREMA for the units and Salmon for the Granite to contrast with the darker floor tiles, but each choice is personal.

Hope this helps

Regards

Mojon1

Hi Leigh,

Thanks for your reply.  Since reading your last post re: tiles, i e-mailed Mark at Atlantia and asked why i had  not received an option yet.  Guess what!  My tiles are already laid so its too late for me.  We didn't purchase until July 06, but he said that they needed to know before this, so the order had already been placed.  Can you confirm for me around what date you were given the option.  I don't know if you still have the e-mail or something, because I am absolutely gutted.  When I queried the dates that the order needed to be placed, he couldn't confirm exactly, he just said it was before we purchased, so if you do have a date it will really fight my corner.  However, he did say how sorry he was!!! and that I was the first to see the kitchen samples (BIG DEAL) and that it wasn't the end of the world if I didn't like my floor tiles (maybe not his world).

Regards

Hi,

I've received some photos of different kitchens installed on Phase One, but there are no work tops at present.  Cant upload onto the site because they are PDF images and not J.Peg.  If anyone wants me to e-mail them, just let me know.

Regards

We are going out on the 24th April for a week - will anyone else be over there then? WE are hoping to sort out a solicitor, then maybe I'll sleep a little easier, or maybe not! Does anyone want a photo taken from any particular place?

Try Jackie Galvez

Speak with Tracey, they are in the complex by Mercadona /Uppers in the Puerto de Mazarron, opposite Mercadonna next to the Cafe on the corner

J Galvez Renero SL, Calle Severo Ochoa, Edificio Acuario Local 2, Puerto de Mazarron, 30860, Murcia, Espana.

We have found them both informative and efficient with Tracey being knowledgeble on the more ongoing issues such as tax etc

Hi - thanks. Yes, other people have mentioned Galvez (formerly x2?) also. My only concern is that they are not solicitors as such - although one conversation I had with a 'gestor' in Spain, suggests that they probably know more than the solicitors BUT all the advice is that you should have one!? The trouble is they seem to charge for a 'package' which includes things we don't need, and there are not many local ones to choose from it seems.

Hi - sorry, we took loads of photos of Phase 2 on our visit in May, but I still haven't got around to posting them on the site here - if anyone is after a specific view, do say and I'll try to sort it from the hundreds I have!

Does anyone have any information at all from Atlantia about latest projections on completion date of our Phase - not knowing makes planning for the coming months so difficult? Even our solicitor doesn't seem to be getting very far in finding out, but then I think, like everyone else I've encountered in Spain so far, they are really impressively helpful before you actually become clients, then seem to go to sleep!

Hi Leigh,

Just got back from Spain and had two visits upto Mojon Hills.  Lyndsay informs me that Phase 2 will be handed over January 08!!   Things have started to move a bit more on Phase 2 from when we where last their at Easter.  We now have a big hole for our swimming pool!! and the walls are looking pretty impressive.  We went over to Phase 1 to have a look at the swimming pools and came across a very abiliging English lady who had just moved in.  She invited us in to have a look around, and I am very impressed with the finishings of everything.  The bathroom fixtures are of a very good quality.  Just one word of warning to anyone on the development - DO NOT shut your patio doors and lock yourselves out.  For some reason the doors lock automatically when you close them, there isn't a handle on the outside to get back in.  This poor lady had left her hand bag and keys etc in the apartment, then when we went onto her terrace, the patio door was closed (the air - con was on and is very good!) and we could not get back in.  My husband had to lift one of the panels of the bedroom windows out, so that i could climb back in and open the doors.  It's a little bit worrying to see how easy it was to break in, but hopefully the shutters will prevent this being a burglars dream.  When we finally move in, a first priority will be to have the locks changed, and a locksmith to do something with the patio doors, with us being first floor i don't fancy jumping.

Regards
