Where the show bungalows are at present ,will be another apartment block for definate according to Estephanie. I love the idea of your pulley system for take aways and groceries !!!!!!!!! You can nearly sit on your balcony and feel like you are part of the going ons in the pubs - lucky you !! But I was impressed with the workmanship so far. I think we have bought into a good comlpex. One thing that I did notice is that some command of Spanish is essential in a place like Formentera but I am looking forward to the challenge.

Hi Maire,

I have started Spainish lessons, completed about 5 so far.  Its supposed to be a beginners class but I am the only true beginner, so my confidence is being shattered at being a complete novice.  We have our first test 10 May - this should prove interesting - although its a reading test.  But its a good course and I am enjoying it, two of my work colleagues are also on the course so that makes it more interesting in sharing our knowledge.

You should give it a go then we can try and correspond in SOME Spanish !!!!

Its great that you have started lessons - I keep meaning to start. I get my son Callan to speak to me in spanish as he does it in school. When I go to Spain I make every effort to speak spanish just out of respect. I know my food and drink in spanish but to be able to have a conversation would be great. Best of luck with your test!

Glad to here you got great weather as well. Did you check out that little bar/restaurant over to the left of the complex? Where is your apartment in relation to ours? We are just to the right, (back block) of the swimming pools. attico 118. where did you stay while you were there? The hotel we stayed in was a little far from Formentera.

Guys, do any of ye have a bank guarantee ?- my solicitor is having a tough time getting it from the developers - Is it just a guarantee that monies would be refunded should anything go wrong?

We saw the little bar but did not go in it looked very nice. We are in Brisas del mar phase 1 and a coincidence is that we were also attico 118 but the number is now 54.  We are facing inward on the back block with the pool to the left as you look at it from the site hut (thats spooky!!!)  We have also been pushing for bank garantee, we have even appointed an independant lawyer, but they have not suceeded either! I understand that it is a legal requirement by the builder to provide one as well as protecting monies I think it affects the habitation lisence but I cant remember how!  We have not been allocated dedicated Bank accounts by the builder either ( another legal requirement). We stayed in the Campomar Hotel at Guadamar, very cheap and conveneient bit of trouble with the lingo as we were the only English people in the Hotel!

Greeetings from New York.  My name is Karen and I'm a friend of Marie's.  I have also bought an apt. in the complex and will be visiting in May.  Can't wait to see it.  Another friend of ours (Marie's cousin ) may also be buying in the same complex) so we will really be the golden girls.

My lawyer has also been trying to get the bank guarantee from the builder for the last two months - she is going to issued some legal papers to the builder as this should not happen.  Once the deposit has been paid the bank guarantee should be issued right away.  Will keep you updated!!

Glad to hear that you had a good  time. Its a pity hat you missed Chris n Geoff but plenty of time ahead to have our communal glass of vino tino or blanco. Did you take any photos while you were there? I go again May 22-24 but have nothing booked for later. Would be nice to meet up at some stage! Did you visit the on-site bar ?

Looks like we can wave out at each other over the pool from our living room windows !!! We must have mirror image apartments. That is such a coincidence !!! The bar is so funny - no proper front to it and so well finished inside but  is great to have a meeting place on site. We had a beer there but had to use the littte spanish I know. People say that the food is really good n cheap.

Glad to see that we are not the only people on the bank guarantee path. We would never that other are having the same problems only for modern technology.

I must try you hotel next time - did you hire a car to get to the site etc?

Yes we hired a car on the internet through Auto Europa it was cheap I think £52 for 5 days.

Nothing planned. Chris at work till around 5pm. Could go this evening to the pub within stonesthrow for a meal but will see later. I'm just as happy staying home. Quite a boring person in real life   

Chris & I are in Spain June 11th to 20th . Already going to be meeting some from other forums for the first time.

Always meeting new internet "friends. We've generally got on & stayed good friends with most. Can't get on with everyone but only fell out with one couple over summat or nowt. As my other friends said, it's their loss.. I'd like to think so !

I think that that it is a great way to meet people cause personality comes before appearance, colour ,creed etc. Sorry that we will not meet in June  - son has summer camp but look forward to it in the future.  The same can be said for Pat, Sharon, Christine, Alan etc  etc

Just had an e mail from my solicitor re BG,s to say that Palacois is arranging with Caser (an insurance company) to issue it as soon as it is registered in the land registry and that this will be done tomorrow! watch this space!!!
