Polaris World Discount Card

Recently back from Condado and during our stay we took advantage of the free night at La Torre Intercontinental Hotel as part of the Polaris World discount card scheme. Just a word of warning, if you're going to do the same thing, remember to take the relevant certificate(s) with you (if you've got a discount card you should have received a number of these certificates). In the end we didn't miss out but it was a close call with the Thai massage and that would have been a pity. Although, I never got to enjoy it but my partner did!! Overall, I've got to say that the discount card seems like good value especially if you're going to spend extended periods out in Spain. We used it without problem at Polaris World restaurants, bars and supermarkets at both Condado & La Torre.

We booked the room at La Torre about 1 month before we went out and didn't have any problem. When making your booking it's better to phone the hotel direct rather than any other numbers provided with the Polaris World pack (just make sure they know you are using the discount card to claim your free night). The girl at reception spoke very good english, which obviously helped. 

We didn't book the massage until we arrived at the hotel and fortunately they had a slot available the following day. The problem being that the hotel reception are unable to take a booking for the Thai massage as they are a separate company even though they use the hotel facilities. However, they will attempt to transfer your call although the one time I tried nobody answered. 

The hotel at La Torre didn't seem that busy at the beginning of June but it could be a lot busier in August  (for instance we even got a room up grade on arrival). Customer service was very good, for example they will valet park your car if you drive up to the entrance for no charge.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and it felt like a holiday within a holiday. It's also only about 20mins from Condado, which is another bonus.
