Just to let you all know that on Saturday there were 2 burglaries in the pueblo street and also 1 in block 8 two weeks ago
May Christie who is a resident on Phase 1 and also holds a place on the community board (British) met with Jose the Head of Communitas this week (drove down from Madrid) to discuss security issues and also to voice other concerns raised by other residents.
Jose confirmed that Phase 1 only pay for 20% of the security, therefore in order to make changes/increase security cover Communitas will have to talk to Key Mare who pay 80%. It was suggested that perhaps the budget for cleaning could be reduced (ie clean the apartment stairs once a month instead of every week and/or cut out the costs for the women who waste time cleaning the carports with a dustpan & brush and then perhaps use the released money for increasing funding to allow more hours of manned security, Communitas will look at this option.
May also asked about the barrier that goes into phase 1 and who controls it . Can we get it changed for a more secure gate build into a wall which completely blocks off any unauthorised access into phase 1. This was as a result of the fact that when Key Mare are in residence in the sales office, the front gates and the phase 1 barrier stay permanently up!. Also given the news that it is possible that a bar and restaurant will be opening in the main club house at the beginning of June - Many phase 1 residents expressed concern that this will have a backlash in that the General public using the bar will have easy access to our community areas. May was told that Key Mare own the gates and the barriers and they will not spend anymore money on improving them!!!
Security Cameras - given the recent break ins questions were asked if the security cameras in place record movement in the area every day and then are retained for a period after for interrogation/investigation when crime is committed, it appears that there may be some flaws in this system especially when our security guards have the day off!
A request was also made that Communitas contact those residents that have for sale signs on their properties to be asked to remove them as it has a negative impact on the development . There is a notice board by the barriers should people wish to use it for advertising purposes.
Outstanding community fees- Jose was asked as to chasing those who are witholding their community fees - he said since court action had started people have begun to settle their debts but would investigate and provide and up to date list of those avoiding their responsibilities for general circulation?
Apparently there is to be an extraordinary meeting on 16th May 2009, Jose as yet does not know the agenda but the main topic will be court action against Key Mare for not having the social club in place.
VERY IMPORTANT
If any one reading this post wishes to be represented at the meeting or the August meeting but is unable to attend, May is happy to act as proxy however you must email fgrafforio@communitas.es with your permission for May Christie to act as your representative. (if anyone wants May's email address please pm us privately)
Letters are to be sent out but as the meeting was only arranged this week it is entirely unlikely that they have been posted as yet, possibility that they will be issued by the end of the week (?)
Hope this info is helpful
