Bank charges

Does anybody else out there experience the same problem as me? My bank just makes a deduction from my account whenever the fancy takes them and calls it commision, commision for what? They do naff all on my behalf. Anyone out there recommend an alternative?

Or even commission.

We originally had an account with Solbank & they did exactly the same. We have now opened an account with Halifax in Los Alcazares who just charge one annual fee (which I can't remember how much it is off hand). There are no additional charges for every transaction which goes through & we have now opened a UK Halifax account & we can transfer money across on the same day with no fees at all.

Our friends had an account with Caja Murcia & their charges were worse than Sol bank.

Thank goodness for free banking in the UK (at the moment, but that looks like it could change !!)

I have the Halifax UK & Spain accounts if you use the Easycase UK account you can telephone banking money to the Halifax extra acount in spain, and if you move £2k to £3k you will get buisness rate minus .02e.per £.

there is a 25e yearly charge, you have to watch what card machines you use, so as to get free access to your money, I have also a mortgage with Banco Popular, so when I transfer monies I get charged 0.2%, as the Los Alcazares Halifax is in a different towe to the Cabo Roig Banco popular, I will move my halifax account to Playa Faminca then they will both be near each other and the charge goes down to 0.08%,

Services DD transfers have no charge.

We bank with Bank Inter and their monthly fee of 15 euros seems pretty high. 

It was one which MASA recommended but now think a change is on the cards. 

Am going to go down to Halifax in Los Alcazares next time we are over and enquire.  Thats for the post.

15 euros a month is extortionate. I bank at Cajamurcia and I recently voiced my concerns in a posting on this site about deductions made from my account without notice and labelled commissions. To be absolutley fair to the bank, I complained to them about these deductions and they were refunded. Consequently, they have renewed my faith in them and I will continue to bank there for the forseeable future.
