Hi there, good to hear from you!  We found Las Ventas opposite Pepas to be the liveliest place in San Juan.  I've listed a few other places on 'my message board' on the website below.  Hey, I did that myself!  Are you impressed?  Annie's Bar, at the back of SanJuan, gets recommended but it's always shut when we've tried.  Jackie said to keep an eye on the noticeboards at the supermarket , at the civic centre and on the lampposts where they advertise any events. ake your dictionary, they're usually in Spanish. Is it this weekend they are having the annual giant paella party in San Juan for a change.  Free tickets to be issued to owners.  (Might have been last week)  There's a fabulous tapas restaurant , couldn't find the name, but its across from La Pimiento just off the Square in Aguilas.  But don't tell everybody - it was already busy when we went midweek.

Aquarius has got Wifi.  Montesol was closed for refurbishing when we were over so we had a little panic over printing our online check-ins.  Luckily Almeriastu came to our rescue.

Let us know how you  got on.  We'll be out next month.

Jo and Jim

Yes between the fountain and new roundabout, then between that and all the way up to the ring road has a surface now. Its not finished and needs another layer of tarmac but its a start!

Im told at town hall this part will be finished before end april.

However i think between jaravia and pulpi is another story because there has been no progress at all in jaravia.

so if you need to go to pulpi its via los lobos still.

At least it will look better for all the tourists in summer! Which incidently is building up to be our busiest ever.

PS. Annies bar is closed Mondays and Tuesdays generally, especially if they have a big night on the saturday (poor old Annie needs to get some sleep sometime, Danny well....Ive no idea where he gets his energy from!)

Hi, today is a local holiday as it's Día de la Vieja - Old Lady Day, have a look at my blog for the full story and photos of the giant paella - it was very good.

Annie's is open Monday afternoon from 1-5pm and closed all day Tuesday. As Richard says, if they are having a themed night they normal close about 4pm until 7.30pm to get the bar ready for the night's festivities as they are often still there at 3 in the morning. This Saturday night they are having a 60's/70's disco night - so if you are in the area pop in and have a boogie. There is no entry fee as Annie is not cooking food for the evening but there should be lots of good music to dance around your handbag to. Neil is dusting off his flares ready for some disco dancing!

I understand the Montesol is due to re-open at the end of the month and they are getting on well with the refurbishment and as far as I am told, it wil be a new menu and catering for all nationalities.

Delfin's has re-opened, La Venta is often quite lively as is Pepa's and life is returning to Terreros after a very quiet winter. Today the beach was very busy with families enjoying the day's holiday picnic-ing in the summer sun. It also looked as if all the Chiringhuita's were open today and I'd seen the tractors out on the beach yesterday tidying up after the deluge of a rainstorm a couple of weeks ago.

Having walked the dogs down to the Calas site yesterday, there is little evidence of any work having been restarted on a large scale. There is a little activity which I think is probably work on properties that people are ready to complete on. Phase 5 is still fenced off although you can access one side of Phase 5 north from the market carpark side, but I think that is open for access to Phase 4 south.
