Hi to all owners of properties on Phase 2

It appears that we are shortly to be asked by the builders to form our community. This will involve us voting for a President and Vice President.  In order that we can make an informed choice, perhaps anyone interested in standing for election as President and Vice President would use this thread to introduce themselves and us 'voters' can ask them questions, such as:

1. Who they are, what is their background, are they a resident or non-resident and why they want to do the job - I would think that it would take a great deal of their time, and would often be a frustrating and thankless task!
2. Do they have the energy/enthusiasm to pursue the 'authorities' when the community has complaints about street lighting, pavements, crime, etc. - can they stand up for us, without alienating the authority concerned?
3. Do they speak/understand Spanish?
4. Will they treat all property owners' opinions as equally valid, regardless of their nationality or whether they are full-time residents or not?
5. How do they propose to keep everyone informed of issues affecting our community? I would suggest our own web-based forum might be the best way, but this would need setting up and maintaining - or do they have a better idea?
6. How will they ensure that no decisions will be made without ALL owners being informed of the issue (via an agreed method) and given the chance to fully debate it and ask questions?
7. How will they facilitate giving owners the chance to ask questions or raise issues for debate within the community?
8. How will they organise meetings and voting - especially for people unable to attend meetings in person? And how will they inform us of what happened at the meetings?
9. If there are disputes or disagreements between owners over community decisions, how will they deal with them?
10. Will they ensure that everything they do is transparent (no secret meetings, cliques etc.) and that they are consistently friendly and approachable to all, even if they do not agree with some of the owners opinions?
11. How will they ensure that every owner keeps up to date with their community fees?

That's all I can think of, but I'm sure many more of you have other questions to ask of the candidates before casting your vote, so please use this thread so that we can all benefit from the information - cheers!
