Has anyone come across this? It might be useful info for anyone paying to install their electric meter but not yet completed on the house.
We completed earlier this month with no problems, other than the electricity was not connected. Marieska in the site office said it was something to do with an unpaid bill. She gave me the telephone number for Iberdrola. Iberdrola have told us (through Spanish friends as my spanish is not good) that as we paid for the meter to be connected in February, we owe them for the use of the meter since that date, and the electricity will not be connected until that is paid. Even though the property did not belong to us until July. We are supposed to pay the amount due from February to July and reclaim it back from MASA. (ha ha).
So, it has to be paid by us, but as we haven't ever had a bill, or know how much the charges are, how were we supposed to know before collecting the keys that we are officially 'in debt' as they said, and that there would be no electric on site?
Worth checking in advance if you're about to sign.
