Marbella websites - Why so many?
Monday, August 29, 2011 @ 3:43 AM

Have you noticed recently just how many Marbella websites there are now?  OK, so maybe you're not as sad as me and you haven't.

But surely there is no need for so many?  Most of them are full of much the same info and many not really being updated much either.

What gets me is how creative people are getting when registering Marbella domain names...

Check some of these out:

aboutmarbella.net

marbella-guide.com

whatmarbella.com

yourmarbella.com

marbellas.com

guide2marbella.com

marbella.com

celebritiesinmarbella.com

marbellafamilyfun.com

marbella-eye.com

marbellachic.com

marbellaexclusive.com

marbellamarbella.es

OK, and I've only scratched the surface here.

Now, I think I'm going to go and register the domain name "marbellamarbellamarbellamarbella.com" as that's got to be worth something soon when all combinations of Marbella domain names are taken

Justin:

You haven't realised YET that Marbella is the CENTRE of the world!!

Good wishes
Patricia

Well said Patricia - it is the centre of the world for certain 'types'. It's mainly a glee club for the wealthy and not so wealthy who think the world revolves around their black-tie social events and being seen in the Society Marbella mag and hotmarbella.com. Very twee and full of woffle - but if it floats yer boat, why not!

Tee hee Woodbug. Yes, I said that tongue in cheek for sure. Marbella is "home" for me, but I am delighted to say I am not nor was I ever a member of the so-called glitterati. Imagine even WANTING to be seen in one of the mags you mention!!

It is, or used to be, the home of the free-loader too. Types and typettes who had one good suit/dress to their names and would cruise (read "crash") the ubiquitous Marbella "inauguraciones" , cocktails, club and gallery openings and so on in order to get some food or a meal.
The rest of us had to work for a living and enjoy the more normal things the area had to offer.
All the best
Patricia

Hey Patricia, Bet you are on the front page every week and I bet you spend all day Sunday posing down the 'Port' with the 'types' in your designer gear. I think that the cause of the property crash is that lady who is known as 'The Queen of Marbella Society' I can't say her name, 'cos she's loaded, got loads of posh mates and will probably sue me. She only sold properties in excess of a few sqwillion quid that were worth considerably less and she had the ear of the 'set'. It's not you is it pretending to be someone called Patricia?

The bit I love is all these people who parade their Lamborghinis and Ferraris along Puerto Banus.

I was talking to someone who works at the port and he told me a lot of these people have bought a key for the barrier just so they can drive along the front and show off their cars! They're not allowed to park...they have to just drive through!

What?? Come on. Give me one of those cars and I'll show them where and how to drive them ;)

I mean how shallow can people be, Justin. The cars! And you know what, there was (maybe still is) a company in Marbella that used to hire out those flash cars by the day(maybe by the hour) so that the wannabes could drive them around. I swear! None of those people actually OWN those cars. Well one or two do, such as the well-known rstauranteur etc.

Woodbug: I think I know who you may mean, perhaps. (the one with her mug shot on the side of all the kerbside litter bins?).
However, don't be deceived. You'd be surprised at how little dosh some of those types have. Oh sure, they pretend they're loaded, but they are not. You would be amazed at the debts they run up (probably no longer allowed to do that, I hope!!) at Marbella businesses. And the money never paid back. I could write a book. With the proceeds maybe I can get a Masserati and barge up and down the golden mile LMAO.

I am getting bored ghost-writing for a pittance so I wouldn’t mind doing a few celebrity and socialite profiles and press releases. If they need to sell themselves they’re sure going to need me :o)

Well clearly most of the Marbella websites really don't say much, all exept for the new and quite wonderful marbella-eye.com
There are even stories on saving dolphins there.........no Ferraris in that one

No Ferraris....just Guarnieri and Rolls Royces instead ;)

How many people in Marbella really live the "Marbella" lifestyle. Very few.

Would dearly love to see a real people's website for the area. For people who earn a normal wage. No one seems to have thought about that.

Marbella is such a chavvy place. It has no substance and the people who live there are essentially morons. In fact MarbellaMorons.com would be a good choice. You could write that Justin.

Yes, Justin. It would be good to see a "people's website" for those of us ordinary folks who live and work there (Marbella) and have done so for decades. And there are some interesting people among the orinary Marbella folks too.

Mike, not everyone living in Marbella is a moron. LOL. But certainly the lightweight so-called "celebs" surely are. No doubt about that.

Patricia
