Postbox in Spain

When was the last time you saw a postbox in Spain? I stumbled across this one in Estepona last week and didn't know what it was at first

There must be some strange goings on where you live! Here on the Costa Blanca North there are lots of post boxes exactly as the picture shows, including on sites in residential areas and also in various shops. Seems that in Valencia region they know how to cater for people's needs!

The last time I was over in June I noticed that a number of post boxes had disappeared. Eventually found one in Punta Prima near the newsagents (on the road leading to the sea). Where have they gone, and why?

Funny you should say that. There used to be a yellow pillar box right outside my office here in Barcelona but the town council have just taken it away. It seems to be a concerted policy across the city. Trying to get us all to email instead?
