my limited experiences in cuevas del almanzora and surrounding area

heaven on earth

Hi, my name is barry

I am writing to express my thanks and gratitude to the people i have recently met in cuevas del almanzora, los lobos, burjulu and villaricos. A strange tale of joy is this story, i found a holiday home for sale in cuevas by accident on the 28th of august last year, it looked a bargain and in a lovely place so hotfooted it to the airport-murcia-hire car-cuevas del almanzora, i arrived late at night and found the restaurant "quatro vientes" still open ad decided to eat there, the whole dining experience was a delight, the food delicious, the service excellent and surroundings superb, all this without me speaking spanish and the staff at the restaurant not speaking english! i awoke early next morning and travelled as much as possible around the immediate area, vera  was very nice, villaricos just like a traditional fishing village near were i live in england-but with sunshine, cuevas, i thought was enchanting, litle narrow  maze like streets, the square, the castle, all absolutely brilliant. The staff at the local filing station, the local supermarket, even the bread delivery man, they have all made my family very very welcome.

I have visited a few times over the last quarter of 2009 and will be back in february, the more i explore the more i am delighted with my purchase, cuevas is definetly a little jewel in the spanish crown, arrid, sunny, the surrounding hills mountains and views are stunning, but overall the people of the area make this place one of the most welcoming and happy places i have ever visited or stayed, thank you to all the people i have met up to now and HELLO to the people i have yet to meet. Thanks for taking the time to read this, IF any readers of this blog can suggest places, bars, beaches, sights, events i should see or attend i would be happy if they would post them on here, i am particularly interested in dates for annual fiestas in and around cuevas del almanzora or within striking distance.

Thanks for looking in.

You may find this web site, www.almanzora.com useful, it has a live weather cam and has other local information, especially about Villaricos & Desert Springs in Cuevas del Almanzora.
