The locals are very friendly indeed don’t be surprised if you find a bottle of vino or a bunch of grapes left on your doorstep as welcome gesture.
There are many fiestas in the village with free wine and food and great entertainment, all provided by the local town hall. Be prepared for a long night… or two or three.
There are many artists living in the village who often have exhibitions of their work.
The village is located on the border of the Nature Reserve in the Sierra Tejada. It also is the starting path for the climbers wanting to go the summit of Mt Moroma.
Hiking, walking in the reserve area is fantastic with waterfalls, picnics areas, natural rock pools and freshwater springs. Bird life is excellent and abundant wildlife is found everywhere.
There is a very large municipal swimming pool in a beautiful setting with a bar and restaurant on hand.
Restaurants and tapas bars are all within a minute or two’s walk from the front door.
The beach at Torre del Mar is a 15-minute drive.
The Spanish government has reduced the purchase tax on new buildings by 50%, which now stands at 4%. until the end of 2011.
