Can someone help me? I had a property in Spain, which has now been handed back to the bank via Decion En Pago, for one reason or another I have not paid my wealth tax from 2007.

 

Can someone tell me if there is a finacial penalty for this and how much, and can anyone reccomend a Fiscal Rep that can sort this out for me.

 

Last point what would happen if I just walked away and forgot about it, as I have not been contacted by anyone regarding this matter.

Thursday, December 18, 2008:

I have been having problems paying my mortgage on my property in Spain.  Today I have had some good news from the bank, they have agreed to Dacion en pago on my property.

 

They tell me that all I need to do is go to the bank in Spain and hand in the keys , sign a power of attorney and that's it.

 

Can any one give me any advise regarding this matter.

In your experience how likely will the bank take on this proposal?

I have tried to sell my property but due to the Spanish property slump I have been unsucsessful.

Due you have any idea at what percentage property has dropped in the Costa Blanca region?

So let's say I'm not in negative equity but I wanted to hand my property back under this term, how would I go about it.

Also does the bank have to allow me to do this is if I want or is it up to them?
