The best kind of food is free stuff - we still get lovely tasty free tapas with every drink in Granada province - our beautiful village is Otivar, inland from Almunecar. All kinds of seafood and meat dishes are given free, and as the locals in our village give us all sorts of produce free (including home made wine) it's very cheap for us on our visits there. Can't wait til our next visit (this Saturday) - there's a pilgrimage to the local shrine on Sunday and everyone has free wine and paella (one of those giant communal ones) mmmmmmmmmm

The point is, that the extreme language used about men who choose to dress in a certain way, would never be tolerated if used in a similar way about women - the charge of sexism would rightly be applied immediately, but these double standards are endemic in society at the moment - hence the 'sense of humour bypass'.

As you must be a hell of a good dresser to have so many opinions on other people, maybe you would post a pic of yourself, so we can all be impressed, or laugh, whichever we feel appropriate.

CHORDIANT, what a strange and bitter person you seem when you say 'men of a certain age' realised how absolutely stupid and gross they look whilst wearing their 'wife-beater' vests...!!!!! They should all be rounded up and shot - in the same way that the same 'men of a certain age' wear Speedos (budgie-smugglers) in and around pool areas. You may think you look good in them - rest assured YOU DO NOT..!!!

I don't hols a view on old men in speedos, or old women in bikinis (or topless), but I assume in the interests of fairness, you'd apply the same to old women wearing skimpy shorts and tops (substitute prostitute for wifebeaters ?), and you think women of a certain age, should be rounded up and shot for bulging out of inappropraite bikinis, or worse still, old women going topless - same thing surely - or are you just a bitter man hater ??? I personally think people should wear what they like and people like you should get a life and mind their own business - just a thought.

I actually made valid points regarding customer service in Spain and relative costs of living, mainly to provide a balance to those who have a negative experience and assume that is indicative of an entire country. It's very true that cost of living in Spain depends on the lifestyle one chooses, and in our case it's cheaper. I made the point about getting out more, the more one puts in, because a. it's food for thought, and b. because we've found it to be true. You can get good and bad service in any country, but many seem to condemn Spain after a single bad experience.

We split our time between the UK and Spain, and If I were to catalogue the number of bad service experiences I have had in the last four years in the UK, I would need a lot of sheets of paper. In my experience, people resort to sarcasm when they have a weak case or argument.
