Smiley, any advice on insurance if you don't have a mortgage.  The National Trust in the UK offer an insurance cover for homes overseas but I'd be interested to know whether you think the insurance cover would be better taken out with a Spanish insurer rather than a UK based one?

However, have you thought of making the 'i' in Spain bigger and then making the dot on the 'i' an eyeball?  It would literally then be an 'eye on Spain'!

When we complete, should we have a solicitor present?  So far, all payments have gone thru. the agent and a notary, who was recommended by Palmera Properties.  I'm just a little unclear as to whether when we sign we should have an independent solicitor with us before we sign anything?
