we regularly take our pet dog in and out of Gib at least once a week and we have never been asked for his documentaion or passport over the last couple of years. He is fully chipped with all his passport documentation etc.......................... but have given up taking the documentation as no one has ever asked or questioned it at all for your information.

Thank you very much for this very interesting feedback as its all very confusing. We were very concerned about having to purchase this electronic device to make payments........................etc. We have a Spanish car so hopefully if your information is correct there should'nt be any issues.

Think the option of the free road via Ayamonte will be the chosen option until we can confirm what to do once there.

Has anyone recently driven to Portugal via Seville and Huelva on the new Toll road. I am totally confused by information received regarding that you require a special unit to pay for using this toll road as its not possible to pay in the conventional way via toll booths.

Any information regarding this toll road would be greatly appreciated as we are planing a journey within a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for all the very helpful and useful information received to date. As an update I have decided to use the Gestoria del Automovil office based in Sabinillas. Am currently in the process of transfer which I have been told will be approx 2-3 weeks. They are very helpful there and it will cost approx 1050 euros. Its been approx 2 weeks now and am awaiting an ITV appointment so fingers crossed it should all be successful.

Hope others have found the information useful and will update the outcome later.

Help / Advise required in the process of transfering from a French Reg vehicle to Spanish Reg. I recently bought a French Reg vehicle and would like some advise on either the best Insurance company for cover and how to go about changing to a Spanish plate.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.
