 I SEE THAT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED TWICE FOR THE COMMUNITY CHARGE  IN JANUARY. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE OR IS IT A MISTAKE.

Hi    the capital repayment on my mortgage with Cajasol hadn't  been taken by the bank in April although the interest payment was.I managed to contact Cajasol and was told that the reason was that my decleration of fiscal residence had expired.

It is renewable every two years. Cajasol  e-mailed the relevant forms  to me for myself and my wife to sign and return. I presume

that NIF  is in fact  the NIE number.

Hi all  I have seen reports that  Spanish banks may  freeze  the  accounts  of  non - residents  if they  do  not  provide 
a  certificate  proving  that  they  are non - resident  for  tax  purposes. I have asked  my lawyer for advice and will  post  it.

Thanks to Peter Hopkins for his help in sorting out our washing machine when it flooded during our stay in our apartment

last week. He forego  his steak which he was about to cook, got his drill and gave us a thrill  drilling a hole.Thanks Pete.

Thanks also to Jan and Phil Turner who were there at the time and helped us finish a bottle of wine after the mopping up had been done.
