An auction is being held in the Spanish hamlet of Olmeda de la Cuesta, which is selling cheap plots to attract new blood to survive. Council officials are to sell 15 plots for as little as €600for a 30sq m area. The largest plot, at 283sq m, has a starting price of €3,450. People have to build on the plots within 2 years of buying the property.
