Hi New Member,

For our apartment in Algorfa we used DFS down in San Javier. We were very happy with what they did for us.

Do not get confused, the figures that you have quoted are for the Air Traffic controllers. The people who are striking are AENA, the actual airport authorities, actual airport staff.

This was big news on Sky News this morning. Warning people about booking up to go to Spain for their holidays, the paper reviewer said he might just go to Cornwall instead. As you all correctly say you would think that the Spainish people would bend over backwards to get money coming back into their country, but this does not seem to be the case.

As usual the Spanish and customer service as a whole leaves a lot to be desired, they still have a lot to learn. Are they not aware that unlike 30 years ago there is a lot more choice available for the consumer who may just opt to go elsewhere. In my opinion, obviously not.

You will probably find that the majority of places are closed on Jueves Santos, Thursday, as it is a religious holiday. Unlike the UK though places are open as normal on the Monday after Easter Sunday.

My wife has been told from a friend who heard from her friend, so its at least third party, that if you are living in Spain you now require a full Spainish driving licence to allow  you to drive a car legally.Apparently some person was stopped by the Guardia who told her that this was the case. Does anyone have any information, preferably true on this.

Mr O`Leary actually came up smelling of roses on this particular one.

Last year Ryanair were getting 8 euros per passenger that they brought into San Javier airport. They asked for it to be upped to 12 euros per head over the winter and as we now all know the regional government refused to pay this amount. However since the region has been so quiet over the winter months the government have had to backtrack somewhat and not only offer what he asked for, but have now infact given Ryanair 16€ per head for this coming summer season, PLUS Ryanair have received EXTRA monies for bringing "new routes" back to the area.

One major cock up by the Murcian Government, once they realized that hardly anyone was coming to the area. Like it or not the guy has some power and Murcia and the surrounding areas need him.
