hi all wonder if you can help me , im travelling to gibraltar n friday and was wondering if anybody can help me to obtain a hire car at a reosonable price, im finding that all the major companies are either fully booked up or want to charge the earth for 5 days hire,also they seem to want to put massive excess charges on my credit card and want to charge me silly ridiculus prices to return the vehicle at an early time as i have a 11-30am return flight, also they want to charge me for a full tank of fuel is this the norm?? please help any advice would be great thanks everyone

hi everyone could you all please try help me out if possible,im flying into gibraltar and need to hire a car for 5 days ,could you reccomend a cheap car hire company to use either inside ie pick up from the airport or outside just over the border in la linea either would be great, i seem to be having trouble as its only for 5 days , i know its the busy holiday period! any help would be greatly appreciated m l. lewis

has anybody just recently just flown in and out of gibraltar i was wondering as im sure when i went last year that you dont go through any border/security spanish checkpoints so you can bring back a few cartons of cigarrettes is this the case still does anybody fly in/out regular and deffinetly know the position!!! thanks

thanks buzylizzie for your info but is that 8.80 sterling for 10 seems very cheap , i was there in march for the day and it cost me 11.00 for samson tobacco so is golden virginia cheaper in gibraltar because normally golden virginia is normally more expensive than samson . is samson still 11.00 for 10 x 50g then?? another question is im flying into gibraltar with monarch airways so if i remember you do not go through the spanish checkpoint so you can get more than the 200 in your luggage and back to the uk, have you also done this yourself busy  lizzie
