Hi Mike, No offence taken by the way.
One problem that I have and I'm sure it happens in other trades is that some people let an "Expert", who is normally someone from the local bar, try to fix the problem to save money but they only succeed in making it 10 ten times worse.
So when they do eventually take it to someone who knows what they are doing they are shocked by the amount of work involved.
With any trade especially on the Costa's ask people for recommendations and then ask the business what experience they have and more importantly how long they have been in that particular business.

Mike, I'm not sure why you have it in for the I.T Sector and if you like I can send you the contact details of my clients who are very happy with my service.

Remote PC Management is something I use every day normally free of charge to my clients to help them solve minor issues.

I was using Microsoft SMS Remote Management 14 years ago back in the UK.
I actually cleared a virus from one of my clients laptops while they were on holiday in Thailand and spoke to them via Skype while doing so.

Please do not label us all as cowboys. There are plenty of people in Spain who learnt there trade at Malaga Airport.
Even journalists have been known to make the odd faux pas by posting incorrect information.

I have been in the I.T Industry for 25 years and have helped the expat community on the Costa del Sol for 12 years with all aspects of Information Technology.

Nearly all of my work are referrals and pride myself on the quality of my work.

I have my own business always give people true advice.

There are many individuals on the Costa's who claim to be experts and it angers me when people use them "to save money".

Like all trades you get what you pay for.

I'm not saying that all companies are the same but I've been here ten years and seen all the different guises of these sales offices / boiler rooms.All these companies seem to be involved in Timeshare, Investments, Share Buyouts or some other service that requires cold calling.

There are, or were too many scams going on and the staff although they knew these companies were dodgy seemed surprised when they didn't get paid.

Also why doesn't anybody name the company they are talking about?

Also the adverts wanting staff don't mention the company name either?

People are suspicious when a company moves from the UK to Spain.

Also why do these companies use a UK Phone Number or "Unknown" Number when calling from Spain?

The apartment must have broadband for the IP Camera to function correctly.

You can buy an "off the shelf" camera and install it yourself or get somebody to install it.

You can use a wireless Camera which links to your router and will give you the freedom of not having a cable to worry about, although you will still need to have a power connection.
I can provide all the info and prices etc but you may have to PM me.

Potblack, many people now want to view the their home not only for security reasons but to also check who is using the property, if rented, or if any work people people are turning up when they should and doing what they say.
