Hi, think you will have to go through individually, bearing in mind, if it says 'bungalow' in the description, it could be an upstairs flat. Spain is not the best for finding disabled friendly places to stay. They may say 'suitable for disabled', but make sure you can either view it in person or ask if they can show you a video of the place. I have mobility problems myself and have seen a few places that use the term in a very loose fashion. Certainly nowhere near UK standards, many ramps are like ski slopes. Good luck.

I live in the next village to Fuente de Piedra and the houses there really can be that cheap. The village itself has shops/bars/restaurants and you are only a short drive to other smallish towns plus the city of Antequera where you will find bigger supermarkets, banks and so on. The area in general is very agricultural, with lots of olive trees, vineyards, nuts and so on grown.

The locals are very friendly and accepting of 'foreigners', in fact Fuente provide free Spanish lessons to incomers who can't speak the language. It is a very traditional and Spanish way of life. The shops/businesses close at 2pm for their siesta then open again about 5-6pm. They love their fiesta's.

Come spend a week in the area and have a look at Mollina and Humilladera too. It's a very laid back lifestyle. Some folk love it, some hate it.

We recently got residencia in Murcia province and had to have €9,000 in bank, that was for the two of us and was never asked about health cover. We are EU citizens still until UK can get their act together!

Hi, have been reading your posts re electricity. One thing that amazes me and my hubby is that Spain does not use the one thing it is famed for to reduce its high electricity costs, solar power. Even in Scotland, which rarely gets much sun, we are seeing more and more houses getting solar panels fitted. Surely it makes sense to use something that is technically free.

I have read on different forums that you can get free healthcare if you are classed as disabled. How does this work? Do you just have to bring proof that you have been awarded a disability benefit over here ( Scotland ) or do you have to have an assessment done over there?
