Just send the form back and write on it: NO bank details, just send me a cheque and then make sure you DONT hold your breath while you are waiting for the cheque to arrive. Ha. Ha. Ha.

The way i understand it is this: When you are on a 2 lane road coming up to a roundabout, if you are in the right lane you go round the roundabout and go straight on. If you are in the outside lane you can also go round the roundabout and go straight on. If you want to take an exit half -way round the roundabout, you stay in the OUTSIDE lane and then indicate RIGHT when you reach the exit. There really is NO point in having a 2 lane road, if people that want to go straight on which is about 70% of them, have to pull into the inside lane 100 metres before the roundabout to do so. The idea i thought of 2 lanes was so that both lanes could go across the roundabout together, so as to keep the traffic moving.

Hi.

Yes when you are in Spain it is easy. As long as you pay the fine within 1 month of the date on the fine you get a 30% discount {unless that has changed}. So i just took the form to the Correos {post office} and the lady filled it in for me, took my €70 and gave me a receipt. Jobs a good-un.

Well, with bottled water at around 50 cents for 5 litres, i.e. about 42p, we would rather do that than take the risk of an upset tummy.

Just food for thought this one: [or drink]

In the middle of July we had a fridge and a freezer delivered by Carrefour and the temp. must have been mid nineties and the couple of nice spanish guys who delivered them were dripping with sweat and one of them asked if they could possibly have a drink of water. I said yes and went inside only to find for the very first time that we had run out. Sorry i said but i will run the tap for you for a cold drink. No thanks said one of them with a smile.

We still dont drink the water.   Bob.

Hi All.

Firstly, good luck with the appeal, lets hope it will be reversed in your favour. Unfortunately in all countries including the u.k, those that are in the right, do not always win their case. I know what Maria means when she said THATS LIFE. I think what she is saying is that it is not a perfect world and mistakes and injustices do take place. They should not but they do. It is of course devastating for those people that are concerned.

I know at the moment in Spain there does seem to be a lot of fraud taking place with regards to the granting of licences and illegal building but of course fraud is rife in lots of countries even the u.k a lot of which we sometimes do not hear about. Where there is money there is greed which we are all guilty of to a degree but there are a few who are prepared to break the law and bend the rules for financial gain, no matter who gets hurt.

I just think it may be a bit unfair to tar all the spanish people with the same brush when they clearly dont have a monopoly on fraud. I still think it is a great country to live and retire in and finally i really do wish you all the best with your appeal.

Good luck and keep us informed.

                   Bob.
