I have just noticed 2 debits on my current account with Cam bank, which have been removed without my permission. Having difficulty finding out how and why.
Has this happend to anyone here?

I guess you are non resident, Gillmary. My guess is that it is your declaration of non residency around 17-18€ per person named on your current a/c. This is a charge every two years & for each person named on the a/c. If you are the only person named on your a/c I guess the other debit is your quarterly maintenance charge of around 6€. We had a Cambank current a/c & when we realised we'd save so much swapping to Halifax ES we did. No declaration charges, no maintenance charges (as long as we keep average 600€ in basic current a/c)

Hi Gill
Could it have been around 170 euros? If so we had that and it was the set up charge for change over from builders electric to our own meter. queried our "mystery" payment and that was what it turned out to be. The payment was taken out without any prior correspondence.

It cost us around 260€ Gina in April 2005 for electricity contract plus 320€ odd for water contract in Feb 2007. Gill, what were amounts & what did it say on your Cam statement which you can arrange to read online BTW.

I agree SM, it is a concern. Our electricity company, HCEnergia send us emails to remind us to check our account online but I would hazzard a guess it is after, or at same time, they take payment. Seems to be just another thing we have to accept. No money in a/c to pay bill means they'll cut you off without so much as a by your leave too, I understand. Has happened to some on our urb.
