Our apartment is coming up for completion in the coming months - I contacted Ocean View Properties a few months back to ask if we could sell before completion and they said the Developer would not allow this at this late stage.

As long as it is written into your contract, the developer is legally obliged to return your 50%. However, in practical terms you will find that it takes you a very long time to execute this option, with no guarantee of actually getting the cash at the end of it.

I have been asked to arrange two mortgages on this site for clients, the developer feels there particular properties will be ready for July.

Yes that was supposed to be a joke and suggest you search other development sites from O.-.P
We have people completing and arranging mortgages in 2005 and the properties are still not completed.
The usual practice has been pressure people into completing saying they will loose their property saying that only small remedials need sorting.
