We have just had a holiday at end of September and of course the pool was closed !!

This is a real problem for us as we would normally holiday end May and end Sept when we would like the pool open.

It also restricts letting possibilities “off-peak”

From talking to other English owners and Fincal there is apparently a ground swell to get the times changed, but working as individuals that seems quite difficult.

I have therefore left a resolution with Fincal for the next meeting :

Requesting that Fincal undertake research on how the times of opening can be extended.

When you get the next agenda please support this resolution and if you have any ideas or opinions please send them to Fincal so they can be raised at the meeting

Or email Fincal Now send to Sole Buendia  sbuendia@fincal.es

If you know other residents that may not read this forum please inform them.

I gave them some examples

For example by people signing a waiver (so no need for life guards) - this Fincal tell me has been done in another community so that people who work late e.g. 8pm can have a dip when they get home.

Or closing part of pool so it “reduces the pool size” out of season, so it doesn’t come under the statutes - if there are actually any statutes

The reason I’ve left the times non-specific is I am sure individual owners will have different requirements - some may like a Xmas dip!

And the reason for researching it is so that everybody has the opportunity to input.

My personal thoughts are that there should be life guards for as long as possible in the summer if the budget can support it, especially if there are young children about; but when it is quieter and mainly adults who will supervise their own children  we should be free to use it as we wish

If we don’t get any joy from this I feel we should push for it to be open from 1st May to 30 Sept even if it means slightly higher community charges (but as I said before this is not ideal because it was 26deg in October before we left and a swim would have been nice!)

I was told that the Spanish residents wanted the pool closed at the end of the Spanish holiday because otherwise the children would not go to school - but whether this was a serious comment I don’t know.

I agree the opening period is too restrictive and I have sent an email to fincal. The pool should be open from early may to the end of september with lifeguards present for the peak holiday period only. If this is not changed there will be an impact on rentals. Do you know how you get info re the next community meeting ? Thanks

You should be able to find out from fincal (sbuendia@fincal.es)
If you or anybody else knows when the next meeting is please can they post it here

Any English speaking owners who want minutes & agenda of meeting in English should send an email to fincal and request it - we normally now get ours but agendas are not much in advance of meeting. we also occasionally get them it in Spanish too :-))

Hi

I have received a reply from the fincal regarding our concerns for the pool opening times next year. She will take our proposals to the next meeting but reading between the lines I'm not too hopeful, as I don't think there are enough British owners who are aware of the restrictions & there are many Spanish residents in the complex. We too were disapointed that the pool was closed on the 15th of September. When we were there the weather was glorious (25/9-2/10) with quite a few people on the beach, it was really annoying not even to be able to sit by the pool with a book!

We need to make other owners aware of this short season (13 weeks) as not only will in inpead on rental but also on our own enjoyment of the facilities. 1st of May to end of September, ?1st week in October is not an unreasonable request. We also support the request for a waiver as other communities already have this in place. This however needs to be a unanimous decision & yet again there only ever seem to be Spanish voting!

We need a strong voice. Please ensure the fincal has your up to date information so you can receive information on when the meetings will be & if you agree support this proposal.

Hopefully see you by the pool before June 15th!.........

To all British owners,

The pool was officially opened on Saturday. The opening hours for June are 12-2pm and 4-9pm. I am told that the hours should be longer for July and August but the "siestas" will only be lifted at the weekends.
All properties will be issued with a single key to gain access, although there will be a few days grace.
If anyone would like me to collect keys on their behalf I will do so gladly. For existing clients this service is included in the keyholding and for anyone else there will be a small charge of 10 euros.

Enjoy your Summer!

Casa-care

PS; If  you are in arrears you will not be allowed to collect a key.

Hi,

We were staying in Alta Entinas when the Pool was opened on Saturday, and it was great.

I too am buying in Alta Entinas Block 5 and due to complete shortly, but I totally agree with the principle to open the pool for a longer period.

If somebody is willing to take a lead on this i will happily support any actions that are put forward.

It would be such a pity to spend a week in Alta Entinas out of season in the complex and not be able to use the pool.

On a different subject..... If anybody out there is buying a property in Block 5, can you let me know how you are getting on, when you might be completing any any problems you have had onyour journey!

Adios All,

Look forward to meeting some of you over the next few years.

regards

Vincent
