Frustrated

To say we are frustrated is an understatement! We are waiting to complete on our purchase in Block 47, all monies are in place in our Spanish bank account but Bankia just will not give us a completion date. We are due to fly out at the beginning of July to clean and furnish the apartment but it's looking likely that we'll have no water or electricity at this rate!

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

We were told it would take two months tops to purchase but in truth, its been going on since end of March!

The only reason for a delay on purchases is either if you require a mortgage or if the property isn't completed otherwise it should be a process that takes weeks as apposed to months so this doesn't seem right if you agreed the sale back in March

The only other delays can be if somebody previously purchased the property and there are queries on he transfer or  community fees to be cleared

I known of people that completed in less than one month on this site, buying a property via Polaris

Not sure who your agent is and if you have a lawyer working for you but they should be able to explain the delays which are NOT normal

We brought a bank repossession and had a delay due to the fact the utilities transfer required a certificate -  it could be that - was the apartment repossed from a private owner?

Hi we all so started buying in march but are having problems with the bankia it seems thay cant get there head around new money laundering laws lets hope thay sort them selfs out soon. All the best tony 

We bought in block 56 from bankia it was a long time because they had to make sure all the debts were clear on the property graham 

Ours was very quick - about 4 weeks..direct from Polaris. WAter took a week to switch on, electrics about 3 days after contracts signed. Check with your lawyer that someone is not waiting on a signature.. Marty & Jools
