Hi,

We seen to have a intermitent leak in our downstairs apt behind the sink. This happened again while we were there last week. The first couple of days no problem and then starts dripping. The strange thing is the leak appears to come from where the sink is bolted onto the wall. This would suggest that the water is coming down somwehere behing the wall running along the screw and dripping (badly at times) onto to floor.  I was wondering if anybody new how the pipes in the wall behind the sink go and do they carry on up the wall? There is no damp in the 3rd bedroom wardrobe behind the sink wall so just after anybodys help or comments.

Thanks,

Darren.

Hi Darren, a couple of years ago our air con unit in the living room leaked, always after a day of use. found that the drain from the unit goes down the wall and out under the sink unit into the sink trap, this was too low going into the trap so i had to re-route the hose. To test if you have a leaking air con pipe behind the wall take the hose off the trap and put it into a bucket and run your air con, i assume you were using your air con when you got the leak after two days, if the leak stops you may have a leaking pipe. Only a suggestion.

Hi Darren,

We have had the same/similar issue for some time. I removed the wall behind the sink inside the cupboard to find as Chris suggested/similar. ML put a claim in to insurance company for repairs & to mould damage in bedroom behind (which will happen if left unattended for a reasonable period). The insurers will not pay to repair actual problem as 'wear & tear' but in reality a poor installation by Polaris. For ML's contractor to clear the pipe that had become blocked we were charged 30€, we also got our water cylinder replaced at the same time for a further cost (not sure if 30€ was discounted as they were doing cylinder anyway? Ironically the insurance companies contractors finished the painting today. Have a word with Ana @ ML, she is well used to this problem it would seem?

Any problems let me know & I will guide you where I can.

Good luck!
