Hi all,

We have been to Las Terrazas this weekend but were really disturbed by the mosquitos.

They planned some fumigation activities during the night of Friday to Saturday.

On Sunday, it was impossible to stay on our terrace due to the mosquitos.

I hope the fumigation will have some effect, otherwise, i hope Resortalia will take necessary measures in order to avoid this during the summer months.

Has someone any feedback about this topic?

Sounds unpleasant, is the a normal seasonal event or unusual. When we bought we did wonder about flies around the water.

Have they done the fumigation or is it planned for next weekend as I arrive on Friday night?

What condition is the golf course as I hear prices have been reduced due to maintenance & hollow tining the greens?

Is it warming up nicely as I need some warm dry weather away fro this miserable bank holiday monday?

I can confirm that fumigation did take place during Friday/Saturday night. My latest report from la Isla is that it maybe a bit better today. I believe fumigation kills the larvae so the adults need to die naturally and their life cycle is pretty short. Both Resortalia and IRM know it has been particularly bad this weekend and are investigating. Fumigation has actually been started earlier and number of times been increased this year.

Fumigation will reduce the dreaded Mozzies but it won't eradicate them completely as there are always others waiting over the fence waiting to come in for a feast!  But the fumigation does make a huge difference, however if they keep on bothering you after the spraying maybe  look into getting mosquito screens fitted to your terrace, I've seen a few on Terrazas.

Hi,

We are not on Las Islas. The reason we had screens fitted is our back terrace over looks a farm,  we did not want to be bothered by  fruit  flies  &  wasps.

I can recommend the mosquito & insect screens we had them fitted on all the windows & have also had a door screen fitted.  My husband gets bitten quit badly by them, he has also found if you take 2 Odourless Garlic Pearls every day he does not get bitten when playing golf.

The details of the person that fitted our screen is.  V.I.P. Services.

   Regards

                       Clieve

According to a local the infestation on the isle is not mossies but a form of crane fly, which are larger than mossies but more docile and do not bite.  There are biting mossies and midges about as well but what you see on walls and under over hangs are these crane flies - I am only repeating what we have been told.  All I know is they are a pain and leave a mess everywhere.
