Hi all,

Just back from 10 days in our apartment on Terrazas (phase 2).

As expected, it was pretty quiet from a residential angle. As far as we could see there may have been 1 or 2 other residents in phase 2 when we were there, and less than a dozen cars visible on phase 1.

Golf course looking good, fully signed, with benches, ball cleaners etc. Pro shop is still pretty sparse and the little cafe next door was open but not doing much business. Had 1 round and only lost 2 balls (but found 2, so consider that a victory). Full round was 50 Euros for residents, with twighlight rounds of 35 Euros after 2.30. No sign of practice green or any other practice facilities which I intend to try and nag them about. Was a reasonable amount of traffic going round it.

Coppolas was open occassionally, and even managed to get a drink in there. Its very impressive and they certainly haven't skimped on the fittings. No draught beer available when we visited so made do with a bottle. Supermarket is still in the temporary position and open mornings only (approx 10:00 - 14:00). Ok for essentials. We used Torre Supermarket when we couldn't be bothered venturing further. New Supermarket appears to be getting nearer to completion.

No visible active work on the phase 2 apartments between us and phase 1. About three blocks finished, plus one near the town centre. The rest have been left as skeletal shells. Most of the activity focussed on the Island. Looks like they're painting these Terracotta. Have put a few pics on this site mainly taken from our balcony.

As always, thought the security team were effective, visible and friendly.

Weather was mixed. Hailstones at one point! Got a few days of good sunshine but was pretty cool as we were leaving. We found our apartment was quite cold, and although we have installed air con with hot & cold, we went out and bought an oil filled radiator for the bedroom (air con a bit noisy for sleeping), and a thick duvet for winter usage.

Got a few quotes for fly screens, and have settled on ALK who are a local firm sitiuated between Torre Pacheco and Alcazares. Arranging installation when we're back in June so let you know how that goes.

Just come back after a week and progress seems to have slowed down again.  It willbe many years before we get all the facilaties we were peromised when signed on the dotted line.

Golf course was very good although we did find that you can get cheaper rates at the local golf superstore.  It was 50 Euros a round for residents, but only 45 Euros if you book with them.

The bar was closed.  We were told that the town centre had been taken by the bank but later were heard this was not true.  Whatever the case, we were looking forward to enjoying our first pint there but there was no sign when it will be open again.

Hi, I heard that the banks (IRM), have refinanced part of the deads of Polaris, and that one condition from the banks was to own the town center to integrate facilities as soon as possible.

We have just returned from 2 weeks out there. Bar shut all the time. We met quite a few people who were trying to get a drink here. Supermarket open and developing.

I have just returned from visiting Terraza this weeekend, although not staying in my apartment I was there a number of times over 3 days. The bar is still not open, although I thought it may be close to opening as there were televisions half out of their packaging and a set of ladders ready to be used - but they never moved from Thursday to Saturday.

Golf course was reasonable busy on Friday - about 64 golfers as part of a golf society, but Thursday and saturday was very quiet.

I was handed a leaflet by security when I arrived with various contact telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. It also has times for the new Post Office in Roldan, where there is currently a lot of mail for residents to uplift - opening hours mon -fri 11.30 am to 1.30pm and sat 10.30 - 11.30am.

Hi Michael

We also have a Penthouse on Terrazzas and have been to the Post Office in Roldan a few times but did not know there was going to be a new one. Did your info say when the old one would be closing and the location of the new one?

Any info would be appreciated as we are not going back out until next month.

Regards

Saige

The new post office  is on the out of Roldan. Go up the road past Roldan Grill ( on your right hand side ) go through the lights, Church/ Bar on your left hand side, the new post office is on the left hand side near by.

Yep, sounds like the one that's been open a while. We tried to go there twice last March. The 1st occassion there was an enormous Q o we gave up, the 2nd time it was closed (even though the opening times said it should be open) and there were a few disgruntled locals q'ing outside.

I have emailed Polaris and Resortalia about the lack of our post boxes and PW have said "We are liaising with the post office to have them install as soon as possible but we do not have a specific date yet."

Back out in June and counting the days

Dave.

Congratulations on completing Eppingo, and welcome to Terrazas

From the Resortalia website:

11-05-2011 EARTHQUAKE IN LORCA. With regards to the Earthquake that happened in Murcia yesterday evening, in Lorca to be precise, may we inform you that it did not affect the area of Terrazas de la Torre at all; therefore everything is fine there

Thanks - we are reassured!  We are both looking forward to coming out in June and August so it is good to know that the building is still there.

Hi, can confirm that quake had no effect on Terrazas, we were on our patio at the time and werent aware of anything, first we knew of it  was a phone call from daughter in Dubai who had seen it on news.

Building work going well on island properties, four blocks completed externally and painted sand colour, two pools full of water (dirty) and gardens being planted. Three blocks just standing as skeletons
