We are using easyjet when we are next visiting CdA. We have booked one bag in the hold and there are three of us travelling. The paperwork says we can take a combined weight of 32kgs in this bag. As hold bags are generally restricted to around 20kgs has anyone else used this combined weight? Just feel abit uncertain about the 32kg and dont want to get to the desk and then have to try to decant a load of luggage.

Hi

This is where Easyjet differ from Ryanair, in that they allow you amalgamate luggage allowances so if you had 2 bags booked in & one weighed 25kg & one weighed 15kg, that would be acceptable.

The reason that the limit for your one bag is 32kg, is because new rules were introduced a few years ago & no bag over 32kg is accepted as it is a health & safety issue for the baggage handlers.

I haven't actually been in your situation but as long as you are not anything over the 32kg, you should be fine.

Noreen

Thanks for your post Noreen. We'd heard about the 32kg restriction for lifting bags but as you say easyjet do differ from Ryanair in this respect.. Still have some bedding to take over so might make up the difference with that, though still feel a bit uncertain about it.

Yes, you can have 32kg in the single bag.  We've been twice with Easyjet and never had any problem with bags up to 32kg

The other benefit we have had with them is that you get preferential boarding if you have kids 5 or under - so no need to pay for Speedy Boarding

Thanks fozzie- feel more confident about this now. We already have speedy boarding so hopefully all sorted now.
