Spanish mobile phone?

Hi does any one know if you can buy a pay as you go phone in spain as this must be a cheaper way to phone home I guess or am I wrong.

If there are any phone boxes which you can use phine cards that might be useful as when we have been before and probably the next time (2 Weeks) we have been short of time with too much to do.

can anyone give me some advice.

If you have an 'unlocked' phone you can buy a Lebara sim card in Spain which enables you to phone the UK (mobile & landline) for discounted rates........8 cents per minute to a UK landline & 19 cents per minute to a UK mobile.

You can also receive calls for free from the UK & call other Lebara users in Spain for free (25 cents connection charge applies). This is a real bonus as I have spent a fortune phoning my wife in Spain..........even when we are both there & all I want to know is how much she has spent in Ikea!

Make sure you buy the Lebara SIM card in Spain & not in the UK though.

We use Telitec.com. Costs 7 cents a min to Spanish numbers and just over 5 cents to uk numbers . Easy to do simply vist website but I understand you can buy sim cards in shops nowadays. We swapped from Movistar contract and is much cheaper.
