Radio in Spain

Going to buy a radio for the apartment and I am not sure if a DAB radio will work out there; or would we are better of getting a FM one. Also any good shops where they sell radios and does anybody know of any  tidy british channels out there.

Just get an FM one. Forget a DAB radio, different countries use different transmission standards and there will be no English radio on Spanish DAB, even if there is Spanish DAB.

There are 2 English speaking channels with reasonable reception in the apartments,  Talk Radio Europe on 92.7 and Spectrum FM on 93.8.  There is also Costa Calida International Radio from Pt Mazarron on 90.0 and 100.0, but reception is poor once you get much further north than Camposol.

We got a mini hifi from electrical retailer Miro at the Thader mall. But we had to add an ugly looking aerial on top of it from www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=8967 to get good reception.

If you intend to get the 400e tv digi box from PW as this mug has, then it has a significant number of radio stations on it also, including BBC Radio 1,2,3,4, 5 live and DAB BBC 6 Music and so on. Rip off cost and the sooner someone finds a realistic alternative the better.

Everytime I get in the hired car  from the airport (after remembering to stay on the right side of the road ) the first thing I go for on the radio is KISS.  English music  but sometimes Spanish talking sometimes English.

Thanks Chris I was looking for a cd player now it's going to be a Radio/cd player.
