Some of you may have read my previous message regarding David Robinson's arrival and what that might mean for the existing owners.

Following communication with him, I find that everything is not as it at first seemed.  On the question of snagging, David's response was as follows:

We have signed a contract with Jale to look after the sales office in Fairways and sell the apartments which still remain unsold .  The current contractor has taken over to finish the last 60 apartments has nothing to do with the sold apartments, and obviously it is not his responsibility .

If You are an owner who has bought and completed ,had the discussion of snagging already with jale please contact Toñi Fernandez in the main Estepona office on 952 904140. email estepona@jale.com

I interpret this to mean:
  • He is now responsible for selling the remaining properties, this is in his personal interest as he owns a number of them himself
  • Snagging on those 60 properties will be completed by the current contractors and managed by David Robinson
  • Presumably, he will also manage the snagging for those owners who have already completed and purchased directly from David in the first instance
  • There is no on-site representative from Jale to help the remaining owners
I am sure that a more proactive approach to selling the remaining apartments will be of benfit to us all but this deal leaves existing owners that did not buy through David in a pretty poor position.

I am not sure that if this transaction had been put before us as a community, we would have approved of it.

I contacted the Duquesa Office regarding the problems of water heaters reported in the minutes of the last community meeting.  David Robinson replied to me and I was told to contact Toni Fernandez at the Estepona Office too.  As you say he now seems to be the one to see regards problems now.

Sunnyside, there is no point going to him with problems if all he is going to do is refer us to Toni Fernandez.  It just means that those of us who bought directly from Jale are in a worse position than we were before.

Didn't think that was possible but with no-one on site to look after our issues, what do you think the chances are of getting them fixed?

I have emailed Toni Fernandez and I am still awaiting a reply.

(When I sent my original email to the Duquesa office I didn't know who I was going to get a reply from, if you hadn't mentioned him I wouldn't have had a clue who he was!!)

Apparently all the water heaters are being fixed but I think you would have to be onsite when they do it as wardrobes have to be cleared out etc.

We are going out in November so I was trying to arrange to have it done then.  Will let you know how we get on.

If you mean by fixing the water heater, they will turn it around and mount it as per the instructions, they did mine a few months ago (I really badgered them!).  Before, there was not enough water for a single shower, now I can bath my two kids and have 2 showers and not even get close to using all the water.  It certainly made a difference.

Yes I think that is what they do.

To tell the truth we didn't notice anything wrong with ours until we saw the minutes of the meeting, we always had plenty of hot water and the pressure was good too??
