Hi Sue and David

Thanks very much for all your advise is is very much appreciated, you have given us lots of things to think about regarding furniture and the like, we feel buying things seperatley seems to be the best option, we were advised by our agent to put in ceiling fans as this seems to be a cheaper and better option of keeping cool especialy if we rented the place out, so it was nice to hear that you felt the same.

Ikea does seem popular for other things having read other postings, we were told by the agent and the Tarray office that Caerrefor sold the air con units at a much cheaper price and that they were ok to use but not sure if this is true or not.

Another thing that we were concerned about was the changing of the locks on your property as soon as you take possesion, is this something that you have looked into?

Anyway thank you again hope to see you next year sometime

Steve and Julie

Hi Julieanne,

I hope you don't mind my comments about air-con but after having lived here in Spain for 4 years and enduring temperatures such as 48 degrees celsius I can honestly say that it is an absolute must.  Air-con can be put on a time at night for instance and it really isn't as expensive to run as most people think.  Ceiling fans can never be an alternative to air-con.

I would also say that your property will be more attractive to prospective renters if you have air-con installed and it is much easier to have it installed in the first instance than later on when your property is furnished as it can be a messy job.  I think you would only regret not having it done.  Air-con units also double up as warm air heaters in the winter and this is invaluable too.

I urge you to think seriously about this and don't be put off by the cost.  You couldn't really do without central heating in an English property.

Best wishes
