How far is camposol from condado? Is it within walking distance or would you need a car?

Hi,

With only one gatehouse open it takes longer to drive out from the complex then it does to get to Camposol.  It is only 5-8 minutes up the RM23 from Condado by road.

As its motorway I wouldn't suggest walking there though.

In Camposol B you feel like your back in the UK as everyone is English!

Regards

Kelly

Actually we have a lot of Scottish, Welsh & Irish too !! But also I have a lot of German, Dutch, Belgium, French, Ecuadorian...... and even some Spanish customers. I like to think Camposol is "international" .... probably just how Condado will be !

When we visited in October and November everyone we spoke to was British.  We got speaking to a few other fellow owners on Condado one of which has lived out there for 8 years and said that its all British as the Spanish would not buy in Camposol as the habitation has never been received.  I agree that Condado will be an international resort as we are beginning to see that now and I am glad as it will give my children the opportunity to learn different languages, whilst they play with other children.  My personal opinion is that I felt back in England as I no longer struggled with the translation and the smell of fish and chips does it every time!

Regards Kelly

I actually thought the shopping centre in Camposol was pretty run-down, dingy and depressing. Walking round I felt more like I was in Nuneaton or Slough rather than southern Spain.

PS - Apolgies to anyone from Nuneaton or Slough, it was just the first places that came into my mind.

I've never been to either and I'm sure they're both very nice.

George.

Hi,

On the 2 occasions i have been across i have visited caposol B and although it is not everyones cup of i enjoyed a pint at reasonable price amongst friendly people. Also had breakfast there and a three course meal at a resturant on the corner (located above the bar) which was excellent.

So dont judge the book by its cover!!!

Stuart.

Hi Stuart,

I'm sure a lot of people who can't go without fish and chips and English beer absolutely love it the place, but it just wasn't for me.

Each to their own and all that.

George.

Hi All

Just thought we would mention that we actually stayed at the Sensol Hotel  on Camposol, and we would highly recommend if anyone is looking for anywhere to stay close to COH they should look it up ,it was fabulous , as this is a new hotel it was very modern and stylish, the decor was fab, the restaurant within the hotel was suberb with excellent service , very spanish, and the food was certainly on a par with some top class restaurants in the uk. The cost for the hotel bed and breakfast was around £40.00 pr room  booked through alpharooms.com.We will certainly be visiting the restaurant again when staying at our apartment.

Hi San & Steve

I notice you stayed at the Sensol Hotel  on Camposol. I spoke to PW regarding completion and they suggested I stay local to the area as the Notory's office is nearby. I was thinking of booking on Condado but although I haven't checked rates, etc yet, I suspect adding the extra cost for room clean it might be actually cheaper in the hotel. Was thos £40 inc B&B?

My God NOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't make the same mistake I made. I had the bright idea that myself, my 12 year old and my 67 year old mother would have a stroll out to Camposol !!!! We should have thought twice when it took us 20 mins just to get to the security gate. then it was another HOUR and 20 mins till we arrived at Camposol. There is a path that runs along the road ... the drivers must have thought we were mad as every couple of steps they were honking there horns at us! Then we did it all again to get back to home sweet home! Hope this tale acts as a warning!  Think I came home 2 inches shorter!!!

ZBedz - A great shop for beds, and other furniture. Andy does not do a hard sell who runs the shop.

The chippy/burger/kebab shop - makes a change from a few weeks of Spanish food (same goes the opposite way when in UK)

The little cafe next to Alley palley - very nice cafe style food and quality milk shakes !

The banks - CAMBank - very friendly staff, far more useful than to have local than at Mar menor

Brico - damn useful to have local

Consum - again damn useful

Each to their own but having Camposol nearby was a godsend when stopping at Condado whether you like it or not

Had lovely meal in Steak Out when we were over last.  Really good and very reasonably priced.  Starters and main course, with drinks for 4 adults and one child 108.00 euros - not bad (that was three steaks as well) Taxi there only 10 euros (I think) from bar in Condado.

Will defo be going back there when we are next over - cheaper than bar in condado - but glad I stay there!

Hi Phil & Debbie

The price for the Sensol was £45.63 per room including bed and breakfast , for 2 people, so we thought that was excellent. As I said we booked the hotel with a company called alpharooms.com which we have used for years and have had no problems. They are certainly far more reasonable than booking the hotels direct.

San & Steve

Guys

Regarding the shop selling beds and furniture, do the selection and prices for beds, etc compare well with Ikea.

Hello and good evening

As Ikea has just been mentioned it prompted me to ask

As Ikea beds and matressess  and duvets are longer than uk built, I am wondering if beds manufactured in spain are the same  sise as Uk branded or is  Ikea made beds tipical of other european made beds etc.

We were looking at Ikea beds but I am not to keen on their Duvet covers

Thanks Jan

Camposol is very handy for shops, bars, internet access cheap in the bowling alley, and good chinese next door. I am not sure I would have bought there cos it is a bit like 'El Dorado' (if any1 remembers that! lol), but it's nice to pop in and then out again!
