Laguna Village resort is finally open and WOW! It's very very plush and luxurious!
For those of you who don't know where it is, coming from Estepona towards Malaga on the N340, if you take the exit for Forest Hills just after the Kempinski Hotel, you can't miss it - it's the series of large thatched beach huts on your right.
Laguna Village is a small leisure complex with bars, restuarants and shops, and is ideal if you don't fancy the drive into Estepona and the fight for a parking space!
We sampled 2 of the bars: Trader Vik's Mai Tai bar has fabulous cocktails and friendly bar and waitressing staff. They also do food but the night we went in to eat there, they were closed as they were re-laying the floorboards! Prices are slightly above average but nothing extortionate.
Puro Beach bar is part of the Puro Beach Club located at Laguna Village. The beach club comprised of a pool and decking area and also spills out onto it's own private section of beach. You can get massages or attend Yoga classes on certain days. The bar is gorgeous but I wouldn't fancy their cleaning bills as everything is white - heavenly arabic chic with low sofas, leather pouffes and beautiful rugs. Drinks here are rather pricey €12 for a Mojito and €5 for a white wine, but I guess it's to be expected as you're paying for that Beach Club exclusivity!
There are several shops in the village (Escada & Bang&Olufsen to name a couple), and they were working on a beauty salon whilst we were there but it wasn't due to open for a few weeks.
I'd really recommend a visit!
