Barcelona Boss Pep Guardiola Hopes To Coach Spain One Day
19 February 2010 @ 13:44

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has admitted he would one day like to manage the Spanish national team.

“I would like to try," he told Spanish daily AS. "In 2022 who knows where we will be, but I have not received any offers. I hope to in the future, yes, but I will start looking to the future when I am tired with the present,” he added.

The former Spanish international was speaking following his announcement that he was publicly backing Qatar’s World Cup 2022 bid.

Pep spent two seasons in Qatar with Al-Ahli towards the end of his career and revealed he will become the ambassador of the country’s bid to host the competition.

"I am the ambassador of Qatar's bid to host the World Cup 2022,” he told AS. “The reasons are that I lived there, I received a lot from them and they treated me so well.

“I will help as much as possible. I can provide advice, equipment, organisation, and bring my experience [to the committee].”
