TWO men have been arrested in Guardamar del Segura (Alicante) for selling top-of-the-range mobile phones online and sending vegetables to buyers instead. Police say they received a flood of reports from people in Jaén and Sevilla (Andalucía), Badajoz (Extremadura) and Tenerife, saying they had bought mobile phones based upon photos and descriptions on a website and that when they received their parcels through the post, they contained tomatoes, cucumbers, sprouting potatoes and even bars of soap.

My friend in the UK, opened the door to find a courier with two wrapped unknown content parcels for him to sign, both parcels in his recently deceased wifes name, thinking she had bought something while alive and it had taken a while to turn up he signed for them, put them to one side to open later, he went out, when he came back he had a phone call from a courier company telling him the parcels had been delivered to the wrong address and they would send someone around to pick them up.
Now he smells a rat because both had his wifes name and address on them, so he opened them and they were two of the latest mobile phones, next thing the courier called to pick them up, a different one this time, my friend told him "Sorry i sent them back a while ago to the return address on the parcels" the new courier didn't like this much but could do nothing about it, and he went of... very quickly.
So is this another scam? someone finds out a dead persons name and address, orders two phones, how without paying upfront dont know, then another person phones up and tells you they will send a courier around to pick up the wrongly delivered items, you hand them over, who ever gets two new phones, you might get hassle from the phone company because you signed for them.
No one has been in touch since, the phones work, he dont feel guilty because somehow he beat them at their own game.
