Mac's Poll - Let's Vote

Curious to know what the general opinion is? Cast your vote and let's see!!

POLL: Do you think 2013 was better than 2012 for Spain at large?
Thursday, December 26, 2013 @ 1:43 PM

Some feel 2013 for the coutry as a whole was better, others may say it was worse. Unemployment has not decreased but exports have and property sales are on the rise again too so although unemployment seems to be taking its toll on the general population the future does seem brighter.  What is your view? Is Spain on the mend? Please cast your vote and leave a comment.....

There will be a generation of unemployed which is always bad for a country.

I would say much the same as the last 5 years, but hopefully during the next 2 or 3 years we may begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I know for a fact that a lot of Spanish Professionals are looking to improve their English so that they can access work in a different country to Spain. There is nothing in place for young people leaving school - many rely on going in to the family business - or working in bars and restaurants. Very sad - the Spanish Government should be ashamed of itself - they are ruining what could be a vibrant and exciting country - people want to come here and invest - and all the government can do is ignor the property scandal - tax solar panels - and drive any positives away!!!! Shame on them!!!! I suppose the Spanish people thought things would get better after Franco - all it did was allow corruption to flourish !!!!

Sounds very familiar that, with certain rings of the U.K.
High unemployment especially the young.
Corruption in high places especially with MPs.
Complete uncontrolled imigration {no policy}.
N.H.S and all benefits open to all without paying a penny in. Oh sorry, {after 3 months}.

Late lunch is ready so i will have to leave the other negatives off, needless to say half the countries in Europe seem to be in the same boat.

Well! If the property prices are going up in Spain, it makes you think. WHY?
I have been going to Spain yearly, sometimes 3 times a year. The last time I went, last year, was an eye opener. I actually saw a man being mugged in front of me. Most of the tourist areas are plagued by Eastern Europeans. The Spain I knew has long gone. I used to thnk I was safe to walk the streets there at anytime. I, and a lot of my friends are looking to holiday now in the beautiful countries that were once Yugoslavia. ie Estonia, Lithuania etc. It is much cheaper and is like the Spain I used to know 30 years ago. I always wanted to live in Spain, but now I am glad I didn't take the plunge. Merry Xmas to all ex-pats anyway. :-)
