Vueling CEO calls Spanish airport tax rise "almost suicidal"

Alex Cruz, CEO of Spanish airline Vueling called the increase in airport tax "almost suicidal" at a recent Aviation Club meeting in London. He said:
“Our short-haul industry is highly price sensitive so this is a short-sighted, self-defeating and almost suicidal initiative that an economy still so reliant tourism cannot afford”
“Those of you who have business interests related to travel and tourism in Spain, do me and do yourselves a favour – complain to your nearest Spanish government representative.”
