VAT in Spain to rise to 20% in 2013?
27 April 2012 @ 15:11

Reuters is just reporting that the Spanish Government will increase taxes on consumption in 2013 in order to raise 8 billion euros in extra revenue.  I would imagine this will mean an increase in VAT to 20% and/or extra taxes on fuel, alcohol and tobacco.

This comes on the back of income tax and corporation taxes rises announced earlier this year.  An increase in VAT is the last thing the Spanish economy needs right now...

Ridiculous, this will only add to the existing problems of the country's austerity measures and growing unemployment. They have
obviously been taking lessons form Cameron and crew on how to ruin a country in in 3 easy steps.
