Illegal cab driver fined €3,000 in Alicante
23 February 2011 @ 21:18

POLICE have intercepted what they refer to as a “pirate” Taxi Driver, whilst he was dropping off a party of holiday makers at Alicante airport.

Officers of the Local Police in Elche collared the illegal taxi driver en route from the holiday destination in Alfaz del Pi to El Altet Airport in Alicante, for which he charged them a fee of €50.

Police reports said that officers had noted the same car, with a foreign driver, making several visits to the airport carrying loads of passengers to and fro and witnessed him accepting money as they were delivered.

Reports claim that he received a hefty fine of €3,000.
